I always have competed. That won't ever change. However, there's only one contestant involved in my stage appearances.

Nothing like trying a new heaviest lift hen? Excepted maybe trying a new heaviest lift without a newbie giving us a spot… ;D
Great job Youngblood! Any pics of this 200lbs body?

Tonights workout, Back and Shoulders... Deadlifts: 385x4 405x2 405x1 Almost got rep two off the ground, but just couldn't do it. I also knew that had I gotten it up, the rest would be a bit*h. So I left it on the ground. I impressed my partner nonetheless. Pull-ups (and variations): 25x4+partialsx2 35x6 The above weight, was what was strapped around my waist. I like to do my first two sets with a mixed grip- one hand in a chin-up and the other as a pull-up. It's much harder this way. And eventually I'll work up to no weight while one hand is holding the other wrist. Standing T-Bar Rows: 125x6 175x6x2 Could have done more weight on all sets, but with already doing deadlifts, and putting my back in this position, I played it safe rather than ego-lift. Standing Military Press: 135x6 155x3 135x6 The second set was just too much for my shoulders. If my entire shoulder and chest region wasn't sore from yesterday's inclines, it may have been a different story. Tri-Sets... St. Laterals: 25x8x3 Std. DB Press: 45x12, 50x12, 50x10 Cbl. Upright Rows: 60x20x3 Feel the burn baby!!! It took lots of mental concentration to get all twenty reps by the end of the third set on the upright rows! But I got them with a few breaths in between each rep. Tomorrow is an off day. And after the last few days in the gym, I feel like it's well needed/deserved. Mo- Sorry no pics as of yet. I don't mind an upper body shot, or lower, but a whole body shot won't happen. Too soft in the middle!!! Even with a two/four pack....I just hold all my fat in one area!!!!

Thanks for the compliments everyone!
Armed and Dangerous Today:
Compound Sets are the norm today....
Magnum Triceps Extension: 295x6x5 St. Rev BB Curls: 90x6x4, 120x6
The last set I used the 120 on a dare from the workout partner. I wasn't sure what I could do, but I proved myself wrong. The last two reps, I cheated a little, but the rest were strict as a Principal.
Compound Set...
Close-Grip BP: 225x6x5 Incline DB Curls: 40x6, 45x6x4
Nice sets here. Might have to bump the weight up on the CGBP though, it was light and got all my reps without trouble. So, have to see about that one.
Compound Sets... Rope Pressdowns: 100x6, 150x6, 120x6 High Cable Curls: 55x8x2, 45x8
I was really just trying to focus on the squeezing of the muscle on these. I went up too much in weight on the pressdowns, and while I got all the reps, I didn't really feel the muscle. So I backed off and that helped but I should have backed off a bit more instead. On the Curls, I did the same, but I judged this weight well. I like to almost lean back similar to an Incline Curl, and let the weight drag my arm without being sloppy. Good stretch that way, and makes the feeling more intense, I find.
Workout was done for the day. Now off for a much needed nap. My eyes are closing as I type.... #bsleepingsmiley4vu#

I think I'm fairly strong for triceps, but I think I need them bigger since my biceps are much more genetically inclined to grow. So, that's the reason for all my triceps movements being first, and I try to load up on the weight, and get a good feel out of them. Not just push more weight for the sake of it. I guess I'm pretty strong at pushing movements in general. Chest, triceps, and quads are all strengths of mine. Though back is starting to catch up- a good think indeed.

Leg Day...and let me tell ya, my partner HATED it. I'm mean, H.A.T.E.D. it with a passion. I could get him to do free bar squats yet, due to his lack of flexibility. So he did the Bodymasters squat machine. When I asked him to keep an eye on me to spot me during my set with 315, he was like "That's gay." So, I told him forget it, and I'll dump the bar, so watch your feet! But I didn't have to dump the bar, fortunately. Squats: 275x6x2 315x2 I wasn't feeling too strong today. I'm sure it was due to not getting my nap in, and lack of food. So, my squats weren't where I would like them, but there's always next time. Horizontal Leg Press: 690x8x2, 690x6 Not quite as impressive as the last time I did these. But these were frickin' HEAVY today. I had 3 100# plates, and a 45# on each side. Well, at least it impressed my partner! Sissy/Hack Squats: 275x6 315x6 Nice and deep. Should have started with 315 and went to 365, or better yet with just 365 for two sets. Keiser One Leg Curls: 110x6 120x6 130x6 Feeling good, but mentally I was losing it due to my partner. I may have to sack him for leg days, we'll see. But I love a good hardcore leg workout, and he's not allowing me to do so during legs- only legs really. Seated Leg Curls: 180x6 200x6x2 Nice and good pump here, but again just losing it mentally, but at this point it's the sleep, not my partner. One Leg DB SLDL's: 125x8x2 I need heavier DB's!!!!! Standing Calf Raises: 170x8x3 Nothing much here, except this machine makes the weight heavier than Dom Delouise (SP?) after a 24hr buffet in Vegas. Donkey Calf Raises: 765x8x3 Had a 100# plate pinned to the 500# stack, and my 165lb partner standing on top of the machine. One of these days I'm getting a photo of me doing these. That was all, clocked in at an hour and a half. I wanted to knock out a few sets of seated calf raises, but my partner was getting antsy. He wanted to leave, and he was sitting around at this point, because due to an ankle injury he can't work calves. So, maybe that will change. But at this point, he's not liking leg day, and unfortunately it's my favorite day of the week!!!

Totally sick hack squats YB! Makes my knee hurt just reading about it! Those aren't "real" hack squats. It's a machine that simulates a sissy squat machine, but also is similar to a hack squat. Since it's a combination of both, I call it a sissy/hack. (I wonder why! ). On the hack squat machine we have at the gym, it's a arcane piece for sure. I've done 495 for 8 on that, which is maxed out on 45's. But usually stick with 405 for eight.

Today, after a few days off, has Chest on the menu. Good Ole' Rep Range day, and I'm good to go.
Incline BB Presses:
205x8 225x8 225x7
Again, my upper pecs had a little bit of an odd stretch to them during the warm-up sets. It didn't bother me once I was using my working weight, but since it's the second time it's happened, I'm going to be leary and make sure there isn't anything further (torn pec not needed!).
Avenger Bench Presses:
225x10 245x8x2
My partners form really shaped up here and on the previous exercise. He used some good weight (for him) on both, and said his chest was really killing him- a good thing to me! These weren't so heavy for me, at least I've been using 275 here, but once the weight hit 245 and the end of the set neared, I was feeling like I was hit by a Mac Truck.
Flat DB Flyes:
75x8x2
Good finish, though I was spitting, gurgling, and drooling towards the end of the sets- I loved it!
DB Shrugs:
90x10x3
Just a good pump.
Behind Back BB Shrugs:
185x10x3
These were just what the doctor ordered. Nice feel and pump to my traps. I think I may keep these in my training longer than I normally do, and make sure to have them in after a different exercise. I think I tend to try to go too heavy on these and use them first. But I get a much better feel by using lighter weight, and using them second. Plus, it's easier to get around my squatters ass with lighter weight!!! #alol8tc#
