You know I've been talking with TJ on various boards about how many days a week we train. I stopped and realized as we all speak of our training do we emphasis enough the need to just listen to our bodies? We get ourselves on a "routine" and that's that.
I guess it depends on your mentality, I have seen people that don't know the meaning of the word INTENSITY yet they train religously. I have seen others that know about intensity and stay as far away from it as they can. For *them* I think not missing workouts is a priority. But for others such as myself I cannot stay away from it (intensity). Even when I tell myself I am going to "take it easy in the gym today" - after a few sets I'm a mad man. That's just the way I've always been. So for those with that same problem I should also say that even training on a 4 day split sometimes I am not ready for that 4th session, this happens as often as once every month sometimes. My body is too depleted. I can feel it. What do I do? I REST! Yep, I skip the workout. I don't feel guilt at all as I know my body and that it's asking me to rest so IT can do what I want it to - REBUILD.

Good advice Ken.I Think if people learned to listen to their body`s feedback, their training would be a lot more productive.By this,I don`t mean for people to be lazy and miss workouts anytime they feel like it.I mean that if you`re really beat down from training ,forcing yourself to train anyway, could lead to an injury, or put your body into a more catabolic state.I have a show next weekend, and I feel totally wiped out .If I felt this way normally I would definately take some much needed time off.Taking a day or two off from training occasionally, can be very beneficial. It helps rest the tendons and ligaments, as well as creating more enthusiasm once you get back in the gym,.I`m like you I try to go hard all the time, but when I feel wiped out I will back off a bit.

Thanks Ken.I must be out of my mind ,but I am going to Manhatten on Nov. 8th. to do Bev Francis` show the NPC Northeast America.A lot of my friends back home(I don`t have any here in Mayberry),keep telling me I should only do one show a year, but I guess I`m just "old school" .Arnold and those guy`s,especially the AAU guy`s,did a slew of contests. I love the transformation the body goes through, but I`m getting downright sick of cardio, and dieting.I guess I should have taken up a tougher sport, like tiddlywinks huh?

Thanks a lot Jeff. I Have entered this contest 3 different times before, and won my class in the Mass. State once. The opposition just get`s better and better ,every year. The Bev Francis ` contest should give me a good chance to do well, as the class I`m entering is "Over-45."I don`t look a day over 60 though, so it could be a toughie. With all the show`s I`ve entered ,I`ve never won an overall title. This is my goal!! I really appreciate you and Ken`s support.I`ll try my best to kick some butt !!
