Or is the other way around? My lats have very little width to them. Of course maybe some of that reason is because of my midsection haha, but anyways I was wondering if I want to target the lats more would i row with a narrow or wide grip? Exercise is barbell rows.
Thanks!

Thanks Ruby! I think what I'll do is mix it up with doing closer grip rows one week and then med. grip the next., just to hit the back more completely. Also I find wider grip rows alot harder to do than narrow, so I'll probably have to drop the weight some.

My lats are terrible, but have finally seen some light.
I have mixed up different types of DB rows, experimenting with different weight, movements.
For Example:
Superset One arm DB rows with lying Inclined shrugs.
One Arm Rows using a Smith Machine.
DB Rows (lightweight) bringing the weight out slightly in an arc on the way up.
High Rep DB Pullovers with a slow stretch (lightweight).
Anything to mix it up for growth.
Good luck Bro!

I have been trying pullups with the "V" handle to work extremely well for hitting the bottom of the lat. its a very hard place to hit, but these "V" bar pullups are excellent.

I would not go to wide. It will compromise your power as well as shorten the range of motion. Grab it where you would naturaly and hit it . Staright forward

Yep and when doing bb rows make sure you vary your grip between over and under hand as they carry a slightly different emphasis( rear delts vs biceps)

Agree!
1) Grab it where you would naturally.
2) Variety is another key factor! (In the grip, the rep range, time under contraction, tempo, etc.)

Staright forward I agree here- I am struggling trying to even GET a back- width thickness, you name it I need it. I have made some progress and very happy. I tried varying grip on seated pulley row using various handles. I found that if I used the wide handle, while I felt some different muscles be hit maybe, it almost turned into a forearm exercise. I would keep it narrow to medium and use enough weight to really be able to contract your lats at the end of the movement- go too heavy and again you'll be using arms too much.
