Either exercise I feel it in my Hamstrings. So would you consider the exercises as more of Hamstring or Erector exercise or both?

i feel the SLDL more in my hams personally but it definitely hits both groups of muscles. I think that regular deads hit the erectors more though. As for hyperextensions I feel they hit the lower back more but they aren't really going to build mass like the deads do.

For me both exercises hit both muscle groups, however by changing my stance I can focus more on one than the other. For instance.... SLDL - lower back - feet close together - hams - feet shoulder width apart Hyperextensions - lower back - feet flat - hams - toes pointed I love the burn I feel in my hams when I do toes pointed hyperextensions

I feel SL deads more than hyperextensions, but I do incorporate them into my wo's at least once a week.
