DOMS

I never get it for certain muscles.
Triceps - HUGE doms Quads/Hams/Calves - INSANE DOMS Abs - DOMS like crazy Back/Traps - DOMSville Chest - DOMS with a capital DOMS
Biceps - never. Not even once. Delts - Nuh-uh.
So what gives? I train every muscle group hard. And they all grow well (except biceps, actually - they don't grow that well at all). I've done high reps, low reps, giant sets, drop sets, monster sets, .... nothing gives me DOMS in my biceps or delts.
It doesn't bother me too much. I know DOMS is not an indicator of growth. I just find it weird.
Do you have a muscle group that doesn't get DOMS?

DOMS are, in no way, an indicator of an effective workout. They can be as much about hydration, diet, percent of muscle fiber type, etc.
Since I started using WMS, for example, I rarely experience DOMS.

Personally, if I don't get some type of DOMS, I feel like I didn't work hard enough. Sometimes it's small, but sometimes it's HUGE! (only bathrooms visted must have handles for the disabled to be able to sit and stand!)...yup...leg days! Biceps never felt DOMS before, and my arms are my strongest area. I started feeling DOMS when working with Mari Kudla (female figure~4th place 2004). She was watching me curl, and said, "You know you're cheating. Go down about another inch to stretch the entire belly of the muscle." I've been doing that ever since, and get a huge pump, and big time DOMS everytime. Don't go to lock out, but pretty damn close. Try spider curls. Also, really, I mean REALLY squeeze the bi's as tight as you can in the positive and hold it a second or two, and on the negative, try to totally relax the muscle for the stretch. Worked for me. let me know how it goes if ya try it! I mean, really......if a 25 year old 4th Place Female Figure Olympian tells ya "You gotta go down....." who am I to argue

The muscles that get used alot indirectly on other BP's intense days will not show as much DOMS after their own day.
My delts, Bi's, and Tri's NEVER get sore.

I know what you mean Rich… I also LOVE the feeling of doms even if I know they are not directly linked with hypertrophy…
In my case, Bis and Shoulders never get sore… everything else... always!!

My shoulders need an insane workout to get them to be sore, and even after 1-2 workouts they acclimate.
My arms do get DOMS, more so than my shoulders....but most of the muscle groups that don't, are worked everyday in some fashion (shoulders for back, chest some arm movements- biceps during back, etc..) so they are used to a lot of different "training styles" though you may not even think you're training them in a BBing sense.

could DOMS and soreness have to do with your body's conditioning?

The muscles that get used alot indirectly on other BP's intense days will not show as much DOMS after their own day. My delts, Bi's, and Tri's NEVER get sore. I think this is why legs get so insanely sore. Back in the days when I trained each bodypart more frequently I rarely got sore not even legs. Training each body part once a week the way I do now I tend to get sore after each workout some bodyparts more than others. But I think its like Randy said the upper body gets more overlap between body parts where as the legs pretty much go an entire week without any indirect overload.
