Ok, I have never done a contest diet before so I'm not sure where to start. Can someone help me? I'm going to diet 16 weeks and I am hoping to come in lean enough in the low 190s. Starting weight is 224lbs right now. How much cardio per day/week What should be my caloric goal, protein, carbs, fats?

Cardio can start light and build up as needed. As for diet, well thats a different story. Depends what type of diet you plan on using.. Any idea?

Blade, dieting is a pretty individual thing… but if you want some advices, it would help to know what you eat now to maintain your bodyweight! This combined with the pictures we have from you will be a very good start!
From there, we'll be able to tell you how many grams of protein you need during the diet… and with how many Carbs+fat grams you should start! After that, you'll have to slowly reduce the carbs+fats amount when you do not lose bodyfat for 5-6 days.
Train 5 days a week and at a certain point of the diet, I would recommand you to slowly increase the cardio sessions.
Hope it helps! Keep us informed!

What is your current eating plan? And have a think about how your body responds to different foods-some people respond better to low carbs whilst others need more. High protein is certainly not a given but it does work for some competitors.

Beckie - I've never gone real low carb so it's all going to be trial and error my first go around I see. #aseeingstars5gt# I would start with carb cycling for now. This will get your body adjusted to lowering your carbs without any ill effect. You will have to go by feel at this point. Your body will tell you whats next if you are in tune with it. I am not trying to be vague here by any means. Its just hard to give a detailed plan without more trial and error info from you. Give us a daily diet example of what you do now. I will help as much as i can from there...
