Just wondering what you guys do after AM cardio. I get up at the CRACK ass of dawn and do session 1 of 2 of my cardio. Right after I'm done I'm usually torn if i should EAT solid food or smash a shake? Since I do cardio on an empty stomach I guess I need a shake cause my body is still kinda in FASTING mode from the sleep and it needs nutrients asap. So what I do is I take my 2 scoops of NECTAR Straw/Kiwi (thanks coach!) and 1/2 cup of oatmeal after cardio and I call that meal 1, then meal is is 2 hrs later, then I'm back on the 2.5 to 3 hr eating schedule. Is this considered right? curious on everyone's opinions on this.

I'll have a WI/BCAA/Glutamine.shake before my w/o (around 4:30 am). Immediately following my w/o, I'll throw down another WI shake along with some BCAA/Glutamine/Creatine. As soon as I get home (around 1.5 hr later) I'll eat a solid meal of egg whites + half tomato + grapefruit + avacado.

depends what type of cardio I am doing-if its high intensity I have some Xtend before and then a shake immediately after. If its more steady state I generally have a shake with water before and whole food after.

I highly recommend the protein source come from whey just as you have been doing. You are in a very fasted state and need a quick boost in blood aminos to get you out of a catabolism.

Sounds good to me. As you stated, you have been fasting all night while sleeping, plus whatever amount of time you've been doing the cardio. I personally can't eat solid food right after cardio no matter how long it's been since I've eaten last. It just won't go down. I can handle a shake reasonably soon after finishing, and then a solid meal mabye an hour after that. If it's working for you the way you are doing it now, stick to it, it's solid sound bodybuilding nutrition, Vin.

Cardio? What is that again? Seriously, not everyone react the same so it depends... but for me, and for the majority of the athletes i'm working with, Whey or Whey isolate are the best option! And depending of the objective, we add some maltodextrose or no carbs at all! But what's truly important, is that you have at least some protein in any form!
