Bulking

Over the past five years I've mostly lived life cutting or culking with only one true "bulk". As I get older and still figure out how I react to carbs, etc. I've had hit-miss periods like you all have had.
I'm 41 and lean towards being a "skinny-fat" ecto. A lanky 6'2". I can put on muscle... very slowly. Additionally I can gain fat readily and losing it is tougher than past trainers I've worked with say it should be (next time I have a physical I'll get my test checked).
So I'm looking for bulking advice. Perhaps something that keeps carbs a little on the lower side. Dunno.
Like all of us, I want to keep fat gain in check.
I've done the "anabolic diet" before. Was interesting and did pretty well. But I think I want to keep the carbs up for a change.
