I watched a tape of a Jeff King seminar the other night, sent to me by Dennis Weis, where Jeff say`s that he hated posing, and usually devised a routine one week before the contest. Jeff`s reasoning was that if he absoulutely had to put a routine together he would, otherwise he hated posing in general. He was a decent poser, so I would have thought he would practice all the time.I don`t feel so bad not practicing enough now that I`m in the company of King!! ;D

Sounds like Jeff was one of the few with an innate ability to just wing it. But posing is a skill and discipline which must be learned and practiced in 98% of the cases at least! At a show, I can usually tell who practices and who doesn't. For the ones who don't, it shows and it usually costs them.
Like the old story: A tourist lost in NYC stopped a violin virtuoso and asked how to get to Carnegie Hall. And the violinist replied "Practice!"
