Any of you guys takes Niacine before hitting the stage? If so, how many? Comments? Absolutely no way! Niacin can be unpredictable and cause severe niacin "flush." This can make you appear red, make you feel very hot, and cause you to itch like crazy. These are NOT great things to feel when onstage!

I can attest to the Niacin flush. It's actually quite scary if you don't know it may happen. It started at the top of my head and worked it's way down to my toes!! My face turned PURPLE!! Not a good look I assure you. The burning feeling was terrible as well.

Thanks a loooot to both of you for the infos! But why would someone want to use that?? Is there any advantage? I heard that it increases the vascularity... but after reading your posts... it seems that i doesnt worth it!
Thanks again for the advice!

Mo,I missed this question....I have used Niacin and you must take a higher dosage than you normally would to get the flush caused by this B vitamin.
It brings the blood right up to the surface of the skin which causes a redness to the skin and expands veins and cappalleries (sp).
It burns quite a bit, and the burning time will vary according to the dosage taken.
My ears and face felt like they were on fire. #flamingsmiley3zp#
You`sd be better off just carbing up and getting a good pump backstage.........wine is also supposed to create the same effect.
I use Hot Stuff which burns also but I love it........................brings out bigtime vascularity on me.

It can increase vascularity, but it could also have the effect that Eric and Saph described. Its a 50/50 shot.

My Dad takes it to help open up his blood vessels. His doctor recommended he take it because he has high blood pressure. I took it because I can be a bit of a health fanatic!! ;D

You are much better off properly carbing up as Tim mentioned...getting a little sugar shortly before prejudging...staying calm all morning...timing your pump up properly...and using an N02 inducer about 30-45 min before hitting the stage.

I have always believed that, genetic differences aside, vascularity is a function of conditioning and a proper carb load. One of the wisest things I've ever been told in relation to contest performance and preparation was, "If you ain't got it when you enter that auditorium, you ain't gonna get it backstage!!

This is very true my friend, but there are still things that can be done in the last couple of hours that can "enhance" your vascularity if you have done everything else right.

I agree Coach, but what you're referring to ( I think), are mainly supplemental or dietary procedures..........I was MAINLY referring to vasodiolators and the like.
