Is it O.K. to drink hot tea with a small amount of sugar during pre contest??? Massiv, when on pre-contest? If it's any time during the pre-contest diet… and you want to do it 100% dedicated… i would say dont add any sugar, but the tea is fine in my opinion!

Tea is a great idea, but the sugar part isn't...at all.

Point taken bro's. I am at that point that I feel drained and trying to get that pick up somewhere. Trimming up nicely though.

Have worked with a couple athletes who used Equal (aspertame) or Splenda (sucralose). Is either of them OK?

Have worked with a couple athletes who used Equal (aspertame) or Splenda (sucralose). Is either of them OK? This is a great question. I am going to bump it and see if it can be answered. I only use splenda. Matter of fact that is all we use at myhouse, so i hope its ok to use during a cut cycle..

FOUND THIS ON SPLENDA
Sucralose
Sucralose, brand name Splenda, is a relatively new artifical sweetner on the market. Like, aspartame, it has no calories, carbs, fat or protein and does not adversly effect insulin levels. "It is manufactured by chlorinating sugar, which substitutes three chlorine atoms for three hydroxyl groups to produce 4,1',6'-trichlorogalacto-sucrose". --Wikipedia
Sucralose has made it's way into a variety of food products, including soft drinks, ice cream, and candy bars. It is 600 times sweeter than sucrose. Sucralose simply passes throughout the body, and is not processed - merely consumed and secreted. The brand name Splenda uses a combination of sucralose and maltodextrin, which gives it 2 calories per packet. Sucralose is suitable for all people, including diabetics. The ADI of sucralose is 15mg/kg.
Sucralose is one of the safest artifical sweetners available. It is my personal choice of sweetner, because it tastes closest to real sugar and can be used in just about anything. Diet Rite soda uses a combination of sucralose and acesulfame to sweeten it, so it would be a good choice for people who want to avoid aspartame. I didn't like the taste myself though, and prefer Diet Coke or Pepsi.

Some people I talked to say that artificial sweeteners make you retain water, but I have found no info on this online........... so far anyway.
I use artificial sweeteners all throughout my prep....never seemed to affect me badly.
I haven`t added sugar to anything in a lot of years now.

I've become partial to Splenda. It better in cooking and baking than Equal.
Know what Chan is saying. Though I'm not a big diet soda drinker, Crystal Light ice tea and lemonade has gotten me through many a day.

Though I'm not a big diet soda drinker, Crystal Light ice tea and lemonade has gotten me through many a day. for some odd reason.. splenda makes go to bathroom many times but never in like the best way. Basically, it kills my stomach and gives me issues so I've backed of many splenda type products and just stuck with nutrasweet. I have suraclose in my postwork shake as my sweetener but since I just Chug my shakes can't really taste much "sweetness" yeah, if i'm not smashing water and my diet dr pepper.. its def crystal light to save the day.
