Sergio probably had the best God given genetics of any bodybuilder with a great metabolism as well.
His main flaws were that he had mass and proportion but he was never conditioned enough, and always put on too much oil which whenunder the posing lights kills any definition he might have had.
I have heard stories that he drank a ton of Coca -Cola and ate a lot of hero sandwiches when dieting.
Remarkably enough he still looked ungodly but he would have dominated for a long time with more cuts in my opinion .

Excellent point about the skin oil, Tim. I believe Ferrigno had the same problem during his early bodybuilding career. Also Lou lacked the self-confidence and seemed almost intimidated by the other bodybuilders, especially Arnold.
That said, I think Sergio was indeed one of the best, but I would put Serge Nubre, Robbie Robinson and Arnold as better bodybuilders.

Sergio is a stud! Plain and simple. He is the only man to defeat Arnold in the Olympia and was the first Mass-Monster to step on stage.

Sergio accepting the trophy, and the whopping $1000.00, that was the prize money back in 1968!!

Recently got a video from Wayne Gallasch about the Olympia Expo of 03 and Sergio was one of the people interviewed. Still pretty big and a very personable, humorous and nice guy.
One of the greats of all time.

Shot`s from the `172 Olympia where Sergio lost to Arnold but was in his all-time best condition. Controversial but I thought it could have gone eityher way myself!
