Kal hit the bodybuilding scene in the 1970`s, and from out of nowhere, and took the IFBB Mr. America, and later the Mr.Universe crown, beating a lot of established superstars in the process.

Kal was lacking in leg size but was known for a huge chest and high peaked biceps. If he would have continued training hard, who know`s what he could have accomplished in time?

He looks healthy and fit by that bike. He left bodybuilding to soon. The potential he had was top shelf. His battles with the Weiders was well published. He legs were a little down but his upper body was fantastic. Who knows what could have been? He did beat Mentzer who was near his prime.
I'm glad he hasn't given up on physical culture. Directing his energy into gruelling bike races is great. To think he went from a strength sport to an endurance one is an amazing transformation.
I understand that Bill Pearl use to love to train hard on the bike. I heard he has a very expensive collection of antique bikes.
