Well I finally got tired of my arm hurting and went to the doctor and I have been told I have a mild sprain in my middle deltoid, and I should not lift anything with my right arm for about two weeks or so, then build lightly after that to see how it feels. I know I can still do a complete leg , ab and cardio workout, but my question to you all is: should I try to do other exercises with a dumbbell using my left arm? ( which is my weak arm anyway, and might benefit from the extra attention). I am planning on cutting back a little on my calorie in-take, as I know I will not be burning as many calories in this reduced state. Any input would be appreciated.

Michael,I would stick to your plan of working legs and abs, along with cardio.
You won`t lose much if anything in two weeks time, and the rest will only help you heal faster.
tweaking your diet is also a great idea!!
Good luck,I hope the injury heals up quickly.

Yeah, take the rest and implement your plan. Sounds perfect. If it takes longer, then TAKE LONGER. I don't know why it is, but shoulder injuries hang around... they don't seem to repair unless left along. PERIOD. Soooooo many other parts aggrivate the injury. When I have a sore shoulder (side delt, usually), I find that curls, chest work, back work (esp. Pullups) and flys all AGGRIVATE THE HELL out of it and it either gets worse or never repairs... just stays the same. Dull aching pain.
