Hi everyone - it's been a few months since I've been on this forum - so I feel kinda like a stranger here. I've had to rest a while from gym. From hard training and fight preparation, a weird thing happened to me - my collarbone dislocated - well, kinda. Not fully out, but I could feel it pop on both ends - felt slightly painful - but not serious. I could do everything in the gym - except for shoulder and chest exercises. Ever happened to anybody out there? I've been training again, but I'm afraid to let it all out - it might happen again and I've got another fight date set for late December. kobus ,good to see you dude, and sorry to hear about your injury. Nothing quite like that ever happened to me, but back in the day, I was doing seated barbell shrugs on a high bench, with the bar positioned under the bench, when all of a sudden it felt like my collarbone was going to rip completely off my frame. It bugged me for a while, and needless to say I dropped that particular exercise. Hopefully someone here can offer some more helpful info. Stay strong bud !!

I've been having something kind of similar, although it's not due to training. Whenever I lie on my side w/ pressure on the shoulder, it pushes into the collarbone, especially if I'm on a hard surface. One day I was putting a dresser together & had to lie on the floor for a long time getting it done. Afterwards, my collarbone felt painful, like I "jammed" it or something, & it took several days to go away. Stretching my shoulder back helps a little, but it mostly just needs time to feel better. Even lying on one side in bed too long does it though.

Mmh, seems to be one of those irritating injuries that just will take time to heal...I'm just worried about the possibility of injured ligaments - that is the main problem with a joint popping...

Mine pops alot while I train, but I broke it when I was younger crashing a motorcycle. Upper chest exercises with a close grip might help strengthen the area. Like close grip bench on an incline. I don't feel the popping when I do those.

Hey, thanks - it works... Incidentally I tried a bench press with a shoulder-width grip, moving my elbows down close to my lats as I lowered the weight and pressed - did 300 pounds - no problem!
Thanks
