Let me start by saying if your fan Of Jay you will love this book. If your not a fan, you love this book!
Its that good. The book describes Jays life growing up in Sterling Massachutes, and his start in the bodybuilding worled and all the way up through the 2002 Olympia.
You learn what Jay has gone through and what he continues to go through to achieve perfection.
Jay is very much like Dorian, in his pursuit to achieve his goals. Lots of determination and lots of dedication.
Lets make the distinction between gym dedication and total dedication right here and now. Jay learned through reading and studying what works best for him. Both in training and nutrition as well as buisness.
Young guys need to study this book!
In one earlier chapter Jay describes why he chose to the "tournament of champions" out in California for his first show as an adult. The reason was two fold. To Qualify for the Nationals and for the publicity of winning a high profile show in Cali. It worked very well for his career.
He discuss how he makes calculated decisions that will further his physique and further his career as well as lay that solid foundation for his retirment.
His training sections are honest, and he doens't shy away from telling you what he prefers to do and why.
His nutrition section is completely awesome. It goes deeper then anything I ever read written by a pro.
His explanation of a diet based solidly in carbs (60% of his total caloric intake) his scientifically sound and very detailed.
This book is a must for any hard training individual and is more then worth its weight.
A steal for the 20.00 his charging and he does sign it for you.
I thought Jay could no longer impress me, but this book has done so!
The book gets a 5 out of 5 from me.
