Lee Priest
DVD of the month Volume 3
Bodybuildersreality.com
I picked up the latest installment of the Lee Priest Reality dvd series. Volume 3 is filmed roughly 4-6 weeks out from the Ironman and Arnold’s classic. This dvd picks up a little after where volume 2 leaves off.
The body part being trained in this installment is legs. Yeah! Priest legs have always been impressive and I cannot wait to see some of that legendary training intensity. Well it’s a different leg workout then we have come to expect out of Lee. It starts out with walking lunges in the aerobic room. After walking down the length of the floor (and by the way Lee goes deeper then most, almost touching his knee to the floor), he then does a set of squats, just to squeeze out more pump. Next up are leg extensions followed by one legged squats. This is Lee’s first leg workout of the day. We don’t see the heavy one in which he squats. This workout was more geared to bring out the glutes and hams. The best part of the workout is Lee’s rant about American politics and gas prices. Lee veers of the common path of a bodybuilding dvd, and rants about the Iraqi war, gas prices, Bush, taxes, the American people and anything else that comes to mind. Not only do you get a good laugh, but you also realize that Lee has opinions on just about anything. He also expresses those opinions in an articulate manner. Lee’s no dummy.
Next we get some footage of Lee complaining about his plane flight into California for a NHRA race. This is too is a funny story. Then that’s followed by actual racing footage, actually several races. We see Lee get a great start and in another race we see him start too late but still win. The we get an explanation about the races by his crew chief and coaches. Its very interesting exploring this world with Lee.
The final segments have Lee meeting with Mike Uretz and Eddie Guilanni (Arnold’s old friend). Also we see eating at the firehouse, and we get to see the coveted but rather cheaply made IFBB pro card. The funny thing was the Krispie Kreme card he has looks more professional then the IFBB pro card!
Lastly we see a scene with his training partner and his girlfriend/wife (not sure) and Adella eating while Lee lounges on the bed and they watch either volume 1 or 2 of this dvd series.
All in all this is another great installment of this series. We do get a real life look at Lee Priest. Its great to really see what make him tick. A monthly series like this also give us a chance to see what a person goes through and more interestingly enough about a seasoned pro. Just how hard they really train and the trials they go through. Especially Lee’s very sore elbow.
If you like Lee you will love this dvd. If nothing else you’ll enjoy watching it. I just wish we would see more posing. But other then that I loved it!
