Here`s some more shots of Jon Aranita.....he was big in the 1980`s and trained with Rory Leidelmeyer and Bob Paris. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall to witness their training sessions!!

On stage !! Here`s what Lonnie Teper had to sat about Jon and Rory: I worked out at Astro's Gym in San Gabriel during the days when Rory and Jon were training partners (1983). Yes, if Jon was 6-8 inches taller, they could have passed for twins! Same style of dress, same hairdo, etc. And, they were truly a sight to see, two of the strongest bodybuilders I've ever seen. If I would have concentrated on my workouts, instead of wathcing in awe, I might have built some muscle myself. Rory had about 30-40 pounds on Jon, but Aranita would keep up with him on most lifts. Rory was a beast in the gym, so that was no easy job! I remember him front squatting with 600 for 10, and Jon matching him, or almost matching him.
Ironically, they both had the same problem when it came to competing--their conditioning wasn't sharp enough. Rory was never the same after placing third at the 1983 Nationals in San Jose, when Bob Paris won and Mike Christian got second.
Jon finished second three years in a row at the Nationals in the Middleweight class (1983-84-85) and won his class at the USA in 1987, losing to Mike Quinn for the Overall. He came back at the 1989 Nationals in Miami Beach, clean, and didn't make the cut. At his best, he was one of my favorite bodybuilders, as was Rory.
I still see Jon around now and then. He is still married to Gloria (the sister of Matt Bitetti), lives in Burbank and has had a successful one on one personal training business. A great guy.
