I will do this in order to cleanse my body of toxins and after this I will start a bulking phase that will allow me to pack on muscle with minimal amount of fat. I will post every day so you'll know how I'm doing. Wish me luck S

A water fast includes no solid food. I intend to see how long I can make it. Even if I don't manage 30 days. It's for detox. Laxative tea, saltw*ter and plain water all day.

I'm not a health professional, but I would think that the body needs some support outside of fluids to remain healthy, especially for extended periods of time. Not that it couldn't "survive", but as a group that tries to stay healthy while maintaining our physiques, caution is recommended.
I think cleansing is an "ok" idea occasianally, but for a brief time only (few days).
All I can say is be carefull and proceed with caution.
Could you site your source that you obtained the information for a 30 day water cleanse?
Karrie, Bob,....your thoughts?

Bad idea, IMO. I've known several people who all tried the liquid meal diets.
Detox'ing is trendy...
The furthest anybody made it was about 18 days... and then they felt like crap for the next two weeks while their body got crabby about solid food.

If you do this please be careful as you will be playing with your body chemistry big time and thats not generally a good thing. I would suggest you need some food even at a minimal level to maintain decent brain function so that is why I don't recommend fasting as a general rule.

In my opinion: Very bad idea... seriously I've never heard of anybody having benefits from doing that...

This sounds like a horrible idea. I could see someone really screwing their systems up by doing this.

Sorry but that sounds like the best way in the world to lose muscle mass. I work to hard to get mine.

Hiya everyone. I just got back from Bucharest. I got my diploma and permit so now I'm a certified fitness/bodybuilding instructor. Today (Sunday April 20th 2008) is day 6 without food. I only drank water. I do not feel hungry. AT ALL. This think is more mental than physical. I only have cravings. Will keep you posted. Some people tend to focus on the negative parts of this, but I like to be positive and I truly indeed feel that every little thing in this world has a positive side. Thanks for all the positive feedback tho S

I spent some time this morning reading the logs and journals of many people who completed 30 day water fasts.
The good news? Nobody died.
Also, I'm sure they were happy with their personal sense of accomplishment, spiritual whatever, etc.
The bad? From some journals and from a few medical studies, the amount of typical muscle-mass loss was about 4-6lbs, an amount that will take most average Joe's 6 months to 1.5 years to regain.
I trust Sinnerica has a plan for breaking his fast correctly.

The only known water fast that was done for a good reason was done a very long time ago. The man was Jesus, He went forty days and forty nights. No other man has a good enough reason. Besides that a fitness/ bodybulding instructor's job is to teach people how to live a healthy life style. There is nothing healthy about going without food for thirty days.

Bravo Roger.
There are a lot of things out there that work for people.
One word: Moderation (in all things).
Steak? Good thing? Yes. 30 days of steak only...not a good thing.
Squats? A good thing? Yes. 30 days of squats only...not a good thing.
Water? A good thing? Yes. 30 days of water only.......?
Moderation in all things.
By the way Roger.....just to add my 2 cents....they even had more than water in the Garden of Eden.... I remember reading something about an apple too! ;D
I think it is just morally and ethically our calling as "health enthusiasts" to advise against things that are "unhealthy" and possibly dangerous.
