hey guys, this is a great site!!! i must say thanks to tim for providing help and great info. i am currently starting to diet low carb, and i was wondering if i should throw in some creatine so the muscles are not soo flat and so i can maintain strength. also would creatine help to maintain water in the joints?

I personally use creatine year round including my contest prep which is a low carb diet. It definitely helps me.

Carefully follow the label instructions, drink plenty of water while using creatine. I cycle off of it when using it at least two, to four weeks before using it again. Some studies have shown using as little as half a teaspoon a day may be beneficial and there may not be a need to load creatine. A proper balance of carbs, proteins and fats is important to nourish and fuel the body. Carbs are the high octane ready to burn fuel. If your stronger in your workout you will burn more calories and build more muscle that will burn more calories when at rest.

on the Creaform bottle from Primaforce...which is basically creatine monohydrate...
it says to take a scoop everyday for 12weeks, and wash out for 21 days. this is 3 months ON creatine, and a little bit less than a month OFF creatine. This is what i'm doing now
I ready articles where it says typically takes 1 month of washout for the body to get back to normal levels of creatine in the body.
I haven't read anything on how long to be ON creatine.
When i first supplemented with creatine...i actually went more than a year or two ...on a teaspoon a day..which i believed at the time was 5g ;D
