I know a lot of you guys seem to use the CUT diet or a variation of a low carb diet. Just curious if you also stick to their guidelines w/steady cardio state cardio of if anyone has used HIT cardio along w/the low carb diet with any success?

I am still on the fence though as to which one is better while on low carbs. I feel the HIT to be more productive, but all evidence points in the other direction.. Joel and I have had this discusion many times. Still no conclusion though.. Just did HIT today

Terry,
If I'm going low carbs, I use the TKD (Targeted Ketogenic Diet), and just a steady slow burn (ie: 45-60 min treadmill @ 3-3.5), perhaps mixed with some occasional class like Zumba to kick things up. I found I liked this because I can really measure and monitor my progress.
Good luck buddy!

I guess the bottom line is. Low/Mod cardio accross the board every day, but adding in HIT cardio sessions where needed to break plateaus...

Pro's & cons to both, so I guess bottom line is just DO it regardless of what type you choose... Guess it will ALL work as long as it's done consistently...

For my last show I did cardio up the ying yang!! Sometimes 3 hours a day.. Walking, running, Elip., HITS!! You name it! I just wanted to get into enough of a respectable shape to hit the stage.. Now I am using a more controlled approach, only adding more as needed. MUCH better this way! I will NEVER again have a FAT offseason. My plan is to be able to do less and less cardio for each show in the future. I will do cardio year round, but want to cap it off at some point. Takes too much time out of life!

I've said this far too many times before, and have to admit I always seem to fall off. I'm doing pretty well for this year though. I guess bottom line is just DO it regardless of what type you choose... Guess it will ALL work as long as it's done consistently... BINGO!

I like HIT cardio for its efficiency but I think liss is probably best on low carbs. Plus the HIT can shock your cns too much when you're dieting hard and training hard with weights.
On the other hand I think you can use HIT productively the closer you get to your show and I've found that the better shape you're in the less cardio required.
I usually get to a point where I don't need to do as much cardio and actually increase calories slightly, but this is in the last stages of a diet when you're already in shape and trying to maintain conditioning until your show without losing muscle.

I decided yesterday to increase my weight training volume and intensity because I am soooo sick of doing cardio. I am hoping this will resolve the problem.

I was at the some juncture as you a few weeks back. I switched up my program, and now my workouts are nearly 2hrs long and I'm doing zero cardio. I'm not staying as lean as I could, but I also loosened up my diet and lifestyle quite a bit too- so that's a factor. I'm only doing 9 or so sets for the major parts, but they're being worked 3x week.
