I've read all over the place that consuming an easily-digestible protein within 20 minutes after a workout is a good way to initiate muscle repair. I have several questions about this, tho...
1. Is this true? ;D
2. Do different muscle groups know when a workout is over? Say I work out for an hour and I do chest first, go through the routine, and finish with biceps. Will the protein I ingest afterward mainly go to the biceps because I did them most recently and they're still within the 20 minute window, or will all the chest muscles (and everything in-between) know to benefit from the protein as well even tho it's been more than 20 minutes since they were exercised?
3. Say I do anaerobic and aerobic exercise on the same day, weightlifting for an hour and then jogging for an hour. Should I wait until after I've completed both for the protein, or should I have protein after the weightlifting and then again after the jogging?
Thanks in advance for any info on this!
