Well.......here is the deal. I have decided to hook up with the greatest trainer and coach imaginable, and do the most unheard of thing possible. I have joined forces with Scott "OldNavy" Hults, and will be competing in the Alabama NGA Natural Open Bodybuilding Championships / Super Pro Qualifier on July 10, 2010. I am going for my Pro Card. If I do not reach for the stars...how will I ever become one? Lord help us all!

Alabama Bound....61 Days!
Just a brief update of where I am at after week ONE. Started week at 165 lbs on May 5th. Todays scale at wake-up is 162.2 lbs. Supps are: Multi-vit/Multi Mineral, Fish Oil, Glutamine, BCAA, Creatine prior to training. Cardio is 4 x per week, walking treadmill, between 3.5 and 3.8, occasional incline to 3%. No am cardio. Sleeping in an hour later until 4:00 am. Hypertrophy training going well. No major issues. To assist in tightening up my core, I coordinated with a boxing coach in one of my gyms, who gave me 3 exercises to add into my training. They consist of using a weighted medicine ball. Ex # 1 = Keeping back on wall, hold ball and twist side to side, "slamming" ball into wall, left to right as fast and as hard as possible. Try for 3 minutes. My first attempt went one minute. Ex # 2 = Keeping back on wall, hold ball and "Slam" ball over head to wall, then down between legs to wall, as hard and fast as possible. Try for 3 minutes. Went one minute on First try. Ex # 3 = Take medicine ball, and slam down on ground in front of you as hard and fast as possible. Attempt 3 minutes. Went one minute first try. This is something new for me, and had DOMS in the abs next day. A good thing. Everything appears on schedule. A little nervous about weight and dropping BF to be ripped. BUT....listening to my coach. Travel to Columbus May 15th to judge a Wheel Chair Powerlifitng meet. While in Columbus will attempt to get a Bodpod for an accurate assessment of my BF and lean muscle mass. Watched Testo DVD. Very good. Will set up posing practice schedule for this week. I think that's it for now. Appreciate comments, suggestions, etc. Thanks! Frank ALABAMA BOUND!

I've been using a 15 pounder for the side-side/up-down routine...for the SLAM down, I try to grab the heaviest ball I can find to eliminate too much bounce. Using the ball with the handles is the way to go. Powerhouse does NOT have the ball with handles.....smashed my thumb on the wall last week! (Dumb azz!) All is good so far for ALABAMA! Weight this week is 157 lbs. LW cut-ff is 156...I have 54 days...it's ALL good! Registration - Paid Airlines tickets = Done! Hotel = Done! Rental Car = Done! All the admin is out of the way....now we ROCK!

May 24th 2010 Alabama is getting closer..."ya'll"! LOL! Minor tweaks this week....cutting back on a few carbs on low days, and a slight increase to cardio intensity. Nothing crazy...just a step-up. New music ordered for show.

June 4th....35 days until ALABAMA ! Weight = 157 lbs (LW Class is 156)....BF 14%. Everything on track. I am gonna be one sexy Beast! LOL!

6/23/2010 = 18 days until Contest
Brief Update:
BW has been between 154 and 156 lbs for last 10 days. BF is at 13%...will shoot for single digits by contest.
Look good so far, vascularity, muscle fullness, striations all coming along. Been getting a lot of great feedback and kudos from onlookers at the gym.
This has been the absolute best I've felt and looked this far out from a contest.
Now let's just bring home the NGA Pro Card!

6 days out.....E-mailing from remote wireless camping in the woods. Still on track...posing in the tent as the grandkids count-dwon for me to hold my poses. Eating grilled salmon from the open fire....avoiding mosquitos! Soon....very soon.....it's coming....!

july 5th
just got home from camping....unloaded camping gear and grandkids.
Firt things first.....to the scale....150.8...exactly where I wanted to be today.
All in track....rest a bit then off to the gym for some isometric holds..harden up a bit.
Just a few more days.
