It never ceases to amaze me how some of the guys today chase size with no regard for proportion or just plain pacing themselves on the drug use to at least maintain a decent looking physique! By all accounts ,he`s a great guy,but he just looks terrible now!!

just from a few video clips i've seen of him..he seems knowledgable..
I would assume he just can't make those "bodyparts" grow the way he wants them to.
shoulder to waist ratio sucks! and from some videos i've seen...LATS are too big. I never thought i would say that...but i say lats for him are too big.
If that is his contest shape...i would really hate to see what his off season shape is.

While I do agree with you Tim, I think this all goes back to "give the crowd what they want" arguement. I don't think that these guys would get like this if the fans didn't "demand" it of them. Here in Spain, the Tour de Francia is a real big deal. And every year when they "bust" some cyclist for "using" there is always a big uproar. I try and explain to people that NOBODY could finish the Tour without using "something," and that the people who get caught aren't cheaters, they are just the one's with the bad luck who got caught. If people don't want cyclists using "substances" then they should shorten the tour and take out the "all day" climbs to start with. I feel it's the same with bodybuilding, if the public didin't "demand" such gargantuan proportions, I don't feel that bodybuilders would go to such lengths to achieve them. Just my two cents worth, Vin.

Are those recent photos of Art? Last I know, he was planning to compete next month (I think in the Montreal Pro) and he said he would be in top shape.
He took time off to change location and reestablish his business, so he has not competed in quite a while. Now he finally feels ready.
Art will not even be top 5 if that is how he looks now. I've met him several times and he is one of the good guys in the sport. Really hope he can pull it together and get back to the O stage at some point.

You are right Gerry, Joe Spinello, the IFBB Montreal Pro Show promotor, says Art will be part of the september 3rd show! I cant wait to be there! Sicario, i agree that people ask for bigger guys… but do they really ask for that? I only heard positive comments about Art's attitude… it's sad his physique is going that wrong!

Those shots are from a very recent guest posing appearance Gerry!! Vin,I totally agree with you..........they should definately set new standards taking symmetry and aesthetics back into consideration...................NOW !!! After all, this is supposed to be bodybuilding, not body destroying.............. which is what some of these guys have done to their physiques.

Art is a classy guy but his physique is not very aesthetically pleasing. Huge chest and back though.

When Art won Nationals and turned pro in 01, then won his pro debut in Toronto in 02, he looked terrific. He owned the side chest pose at that time. Hope he gets back to that. From his Mass Results DVD, he has the knowledge to do it.
Agree, Tim. Aesthetics and conditioning are more important than size. Jay is a big guy, but looks more conditioned and balanced on stage.

I've met Art a few times and have even had the honor of training right beside him (not with him). I rode teh same elevator as he did post workout. AMAZING guy! Very down to earth guy. I have seen pics of him when he was I believe a teen or just in his early 20's and he looked ridiculously AMAZING! He's just blown up now and lost alot of that appeal he had earlier in his career.

he has no waist! I'd bet most of the females in the crowd would like that kind of physique on a man-I certainly wouldn't!!!!

He just has the oddest frame. Wide waist, small-ish chest, sloping traps, no definition (most likely attributed to the size issue), and no arm size for his torso. Let us not forget the non-gyno, gyno look-a-like (huh?) chest he sports complete with sloping bewbies. Just a mess, and he's going to keep getting worse if he continues his current path.

Good obsevation YB.his pecs are way overdeveloped and look too big and bulbous compared to the rest of his physique.
Waist looks like Kovacs!
I don`t think he can revert back to a good look at this point!

Art recently moved to North Texas after figuring that it was just he and T J Sorenson carrying the bodybuilding banner in Wisconsin.
I hear he's looking for new sponsors, getting his personal training re-established and training at Branch Warren and Ronnie's Gym in Arlington.
Maybe they can get him off the Wisconsin cheese and lean him a out a bit

Art came into the pro ranks with one of the most dense and intense physiques of all! His pursuit of even more mass has absolutely ruined him.
