Earlier tonight I was making dinner. Had my backdoor open looking down the alley my house has on one side. I saw some kids acting suspicious, following what looked to be a young girl who also looked like she was avoiding the aforementioned juveniles. I saw them lurking, possibly looking at a cell phone or picture, but huddling up looking at something. Apparently whatever they were looking at, made them think I was scoping them. One of them turned and started to talk sh*t, but it was undecipherable. I didn't say anything back to them. And that was that. About an hour ago, I had just made my last meal and was sitting down to WOTW for a looksie. I heard the unmistable sound of breaking glass. Cautiously, I walked out and nothing else followed. I heard an SUV of some sort, with exhaust system speed off. So I think the kids from earlier parked on the street really quick, grabbed a rock from my front yard and threw it through my kitchen window. Called the authorities, just to have something on record. Called the landlord and he's going to talk to the HOA early tomorrow and have the window taken care of. Just a pain in the ass to deal with this, in my sleep deprived state, as well as I'm just hoping it's an isolated incident. Or, really I kind of hope it's just random so that it is probably the only time it will happen. I've lived here for almost 7 years, and this is the first time something of this sort has occured. Punk little kids.

That sucks! Obviously the parents aren't doing a very good job or they wouldn't be doing that kind of thing. We have the same problem down here in nZ-the juvies get away with too much b/c the justice system can only slap them on the wrist with a wet bus ticket....

Guess you're not safe anywhere. We had a couple similar incidents. In fact, police recently arrested a burglar here who was targeting the elderly. I was at great risk while he was loose! ;D
But sorry to hear, YB. Hope this is isolated.

Man about 1 year ago a family moved in across the street and another family bought a house two doors down from us. My wife has lived here for 10 years and I have 4 years with absolutly no problems until they moved in. My wife left her purse in her car one day after work and about 11 pm I went out to the car to find that it was stolen. Then about 3 weeks after it was stolen I found her make up kit that was in her purse in the neighbors tree lawn next door to us which would be between these two houses. I can not prove who did it but man am I P***ed off still.

Few years ago, kid was on my porch at 5:00 am. I opened the door, and he asked me for a ride home, becuase he hurt his ankle. (I thought he was a nwespaper delivery kid or something) I said no, but if he's hurt I'll call him some help. He hopped away on his good foot. I called the police. They arrived, I gave description and they knew exactly who he was, and went to his house. Long story short...12 year old kid, 2nd story burglar with rap sheet....was "hooking up" with a 16 year old girl, and jumped out of her window when Daddy caught him in her room. Broke his ankle in the jump. WHY MY PORCH! ROTTEN KIDS!

Thanks Karrie (and others too!),
it hasn't happened again since. I suppose, whoever did it, just wanted to prove his or her point. I was just trying to be a good Samaritan, and make sure the kids weren't up to no good. Instead, the stupid dumb ass kid has to try to act hard. Notice from the above post, though, that he didn't do anything TO MY FACE. He had to be a coward and vandalize my property, instead of take it up with me. Oh well, #smileydunno9gx# The bottom line is, even had he come up to me and wanted fisticuffs to happen, it probably wouldn't have. A few reasons- 1) he was 15 at the oldest from the glimpse I caught of him 2) it wouldn't have been too fun for him since I probably weight twice as much as him 3) if he had to act all hard, maybe he had a weapon (I prefer even fights!) and lastly and most importantly 4) he knows where I live!!! But I don't know where he lives, his name or anything of the sort.
Anyway, Karrie is that you in your new avatar? #drool3xm# #drool3xm# #drool3xm#

Anyway, Karrie is that you in your new avatar? #drool3xm# #drool3xm# #drool3xm# I can't say I've had anything so drastic happen but I have had kids up to no good. And I have and my neighbors as well take care of the kids very simply. Corral the kids and simply detain them if possible until the cops get there. My neighbor did this for us when two kids were taking a prybar to our fence to peel the pickets off. Why? I have no idea but they called the cops and managed to keep the kids there until they arrived. we were not home but they told us about the incident in case we saw anything happen to their place. Bottom line is IF you can manage to get the cops there when the kid is still around then you now know where they live too! It sounds crappy to be that way but I have had personl property stolen from my porch, a brand new propane grill stolen and my Jeep. I got the Jeep back when it was found around the corner. It's a piece but it's mine! I am not the most level headed person but I do try. I do know I were to catch someone in the act it would be ballbat to the head type of a situation. Questions asked after. Well maybe I wouldn't need a ball bat but I think you get my point. Sal
