Only now I'm figuring this out. Sure, I could drink that beer or two that's in the fridge. Sure, I could have dessert. Sure I could surf the internet for hours. But, what all will that get me in life, and in my goals?
I've always loved beer. I had a problem with alcohol for many years, and now I can just drink socially. But now that I'm thinking about my life, what I want, and where I want to go, I don't feel like drinking. I have a few COLD DELICIOUS beers in the fridge but they've been sitting there all week. Usually I drink them TOO fast, and I have to go buy some more.
In life we eat, watch, and use so many things which not only are useless towards our goals, but can HURT us. It's hard to have that self control and say no, but ultimately you have to ask yourself:
"In the grand scheme of things and in my life, do I really need it?"
2007 is not just a committment to get my ass out there, find a job, and become stable financially, but also to stabilize myself as far as health and comsumption goes. In our society, it's all about excess, have more than you want, and spending more than you earn. I intend to go against the grain and be a simple and effective person in my life, in my career, and of course, in my training and nutrition.
Just thought I'd share that with you all. Just a bit of a revelation that came to my mind while I was doing some cardio just now (skipping rope)., as you all know from my training I'm taking a week off to rest the joints and CNS, and to rethink my plan and come back the following week STRONGER! I'm finding I'll be coming back stronger not just physically, but mentally as well.
