As a -very- amateur let me just add my appreciation to Tim and to the site's members.
I grew tired of the popular sites full of flames and hatred and regurgitating the same wrong info.
I've learned a lot here.
Thanks Tim!

Anytime you establish a community, alll its values point to its founder(s) and trust me, its not as easy as it might seem. Good job Tim!

I agree, I met Tim at another board, and all of his posts are positive. I asked him for help and he is willing to jump in to help me. He is a good example and if I am smart enough to follow his example I can only become a better person.

Thanks Bob...............I just wanna` mention that Bob is a great guy also.....he offered to put me up in his house in Harrisburgh for the NABBA Nationals, but I`ll decline as I wouldn`t think of putting him and his wife out in any way. You meet some great people in this sport....thanks for being here Bob!! #arockon6ha#

I understand your decline, because I would feel the same way, but in no way shape or form would you be putting us out of the way. Anyhow I look forward to meeting you at that show I hope i recongnize you I am terrible at that stuff. I think it is because I interact with so many people in my travels everyone looks the same

As someone who has a board of his own that for the most part failed (though it was great for a while), I can tell you that this is a GREAT, sustainable, board.
I'll list some reasons that I think make it great (as if I am an expert! lol).
1. The people who come here regularly are all people who train, and love it.
2. The people who come here regularly seem to be tired of the BS found on just about every other lifting forum (I know I am - I was tired of it after 3 days)
3. The people who come here regularly are not constantly trying to prove how much they know, or how great they are to a bunch of strangers in some weird attempt to get kicks.
4. The people who come here regularly are mostly people who COMPETE regularly, instead of just talking about it. Walking the walk is always more inspiring than gum-flapping.
5. The people who come here regularly love the sport because of the fraternity that exists in it - something that often seems lost on the pros, but that you'll find in spades every day in hundreds of thousands of gyms across the world. The fraternity that is a large part of why this is our sport of choice.
6. The people who come here regularly know that we don't really compete with each other - even when we're on the same stage - so there's no point being stupid about offering help. We compete with ourselves only, and the competition takes place every day BUT show day. Show day is the prize we win.
7. The people who come here regularly know that there is about 1500 ways to skin a cat, so they don't get all pissy when someone disagrees, or doesn't follow the advice offered. And they'll continue to offer it gladly.
8. The people who come here regularly come here regularly.
And finally, the single biggest reason that it's a great board ....
The people who come here regularly.
Of course Tim is a big part of that. His presence on other boards and his integrity there drew like-minded people here. I'm happy to know you Tim, even if it's just a cyber-friendship. I'd love to train with you some day. If you (or anyone else here) is ever in Toronto, let me know. As long as I don't secretly believe you're a psychopath, you're invited to my home to do battle with the demons!!

Damn! I'm really happy that I started this thread! Just like our journals, it's great to look back from time to time to learn from what we've done, or haven't done.
It was good to look back over this thread to read everyones input, about Tim, and about everything else we do as community. Kudos to Rich, who hit a lot of the issues right on the head.
It's great to be here. It's great to be a member of this community! I must say, that through the thick and thin of our everyday lives, I have never met a bodybuilder I haven't liked (well, except Lou Ferigno, but that's another thread!). And I look forward to meeting all of you some day.....since Tim is the only one I've met, I'm sure that in many ways we are reflections of him in some way...and that may be what draws us together.
The young, the old (ahem), the good looking, the not-so-good looking, the strong ,the weak, the intelligent, the beligerent, all make a community.....take us or leave us....it's a great place to be!
Amen ;D
