I'm not one to put myself over, but Tim asked me to post this on this board. You all know I love everyone here on WOW. You've all been helpful and supportive and I want to thank you for it! This was a warm up show for me last weekend. I didn't do anything "special" for the show like water/sodium/carbs etc. What I did was eat a high carb day (700g carbs) on Friday with a ton of sodium and 2+ gallons of water. I stopped my water intake at 9pm and had about 1 liter of water from that point till prejudging was over. After prejudging I immediately took in over one gallon of water and went back to a low carb day. It was a total surprise for me to win my class, let alone the overall. I weighed 197.25 for this show and was pleased with how I looked in the morning. I loaded up the salt and water during the rest of the day and was shocked to have won the overall. Now I'm getting ready for the show that has been my goal since I started bodybuilding. The South Carolina State show this weekend June 2. I'll keep everyone posted on what unfolds. Oh and I'm the guy second from the left...next to the bald guy. LOL

Congrats on the result and good luck in the future.
And don't ever feel bad about chirping up a win. As long as its done with class then its something you SHOULD be proud of.

Joe, this is a huge achievement… doesnt it boost the motivation for the next shows? I'm sure all these months of dieting looks like nothing now!
It's great to hear a bit about your preps! I have always believed that water and sodium are not evil… we need them to look full and for the pump! At least, I've had my best results with them!
Congrats, you looked awesome!

Thanks for the kind words everyone...it makes all the dieting and cardio worth that much more!
The show was called the Palmetto Cup held in Columbia, South Carolina. It's a national qualifier and that was a goal of mine...to get qualified.
It does help with the motivation Mo! I makes this week that much easier and motivation to stay ultra strict on the diet and to workout that much harder as well! The water and sodium are very important and definately contribute to the fullness of the competitors. It's funny how many people fear them on contest day.

Joe,a little history..trivial as it may be,but the Palmetto Cup has been held since the 1970`s................I beleive it may have been in Florida at one time but I could be wrong as I sometimes am!! So much for that!! LOL What`s the name of the next contest, and please let us know how you make out ?
