I read somewhere that it is suggested to take creatine before workout ....
I don't believe in this..but is there any benefit in taking it before workout?
I hear it gives you some sort of energy or something....(doubt it. ;D)

Creatine cannot provide any performance enhancing benefits until it is stored within muscle. Creatine taken before a workout will not be absorbed and stored in muscle that quickly, and thus will not provide any benefit at this time. Creatine taken post training is more beneficial.

Creatine builds and stores in the system, as said, so as long as you're past a couple weeks of taking it, and continue taking it (whenever), it's in your system and active.

I agree, and a few years back companies where attempting to bypass this bit of truth with ... whait for it... EFFERVESCENT CREATINE!!! lol... claiming that it somehow broke down quicker and was able to be assimilated, thing is thast horse sh*te, and was never proven to actually assimilate any better than Creatine granules!

Effervescant creatine and liquid creatine,and creatine loading are just more ploys from the supp companies to make more coin!! Greedy bast*rds!!

Actually, there was some intelligent science behind effervescent creatine, and I know many people that did not do well on regular monohydrate that DID respond to the effervescent form.
CEEs are the best creatines now though.

. CEEs are the best creatines now though. I agree with this. I never responded much to normal monohydrate, but while using a CEE I have set personal bests in almost every major exercise I do and all of this without drastically changing my diet or training program. Taylor

CEE is creatine ethyl ester. I am using CEX by VPX.

Ahhh...i like vpx miccellean..that product is good...so i suppose other VPX products are good too.
But funny thing is...i don't even know if i'm responding to creatine or not....and chances are..i'm wasting my money.
Do you guys think i should try another brand to see if there is a change?

I dont think "brands" matter, per say. I use 100% Creatine Monohydrate and I have noticed a slight increase in my mass. Nothing significant but I assume its from the creatine. I wouldn't recommend the flavored ones with sugar only because they make me bloated and such. I just purchased the ON AfterMax which contains 5grams of creatine in it, so my tub of creatine is just sittin there. You cant beat 181 servings for 21 bucks.

I haven`t used creatine powder in some time but I think I should mention that for it to be really effective,make sure your water/liquid intake is high at all times!!

I always take a glutamine/creatine/whey shake right after I train (drink it on the way home). Then I eat shortly thereafter

Boyd,I honestly think it`s unecesary!!
I could be wrong however as I often am! ;D
Hopefully someone else will chime in,there are some definte people here I consider experts when it comes to supplements..............I am not one of them!! :Dunno:

I agree Tim.
The "Loading Phase" was something that was made up in order for you to go through the product QUICKER and buy more..
You can prolly do it for 2-3 days instead and notice the same results

My thoughts are that the receptors in your muscles will only accept a certain amount, and the rest will be excreted!!
Like I said,I may be wrong on this so I don`t want it to sound like I`m positive that this is what occurs,because I`m really not sure!!

In my days when I was starting out, I bought cell tech (I know..I am ashamed too) and I took a FULL dose. Well, it was later that I found out that I should only have taken a half.. Have you ever taken a FULL DOSE of cell tech? Feels like you are going to puke out your insides..Not to mention the ALA BURNS going down.

I believe the loading dose was originally proposed on the basis that it would more quickly saturate the muscle as opposed to starting out with a normal daily dose. I feel that although this could be true, you don't really gain much benefit from it as your muscles will become saturated on a normal dose, it just may take a little longer. I would say that the difference is not significant and would never recommend someone to load. As for changing brands, I don't think it will make much difference if you are staying with a similar product..ie if you are sticking with creatine monohydrate. I do feel, however, that the newer creatines such as tricreatine malate and CEE are MUCH better than monohydrate...at least thats been the case with me.

If a guy weighs 150, and his buddy weighs 300, should they both load according to the directions on the container? :Dunno:
