Hi!
I came across this site recently through the MD forum. While browsing, I came across many familiar names, so I thought I would join the board.
My name is Neal Grossman and began training at age 50. I did my first competition just shy of my 51st birthday. Being a late starter, I decided to get as much experience as possible as fast as possible. With the help of a great mentor and exceptional drug-free bodybuilder, John Puskarich, I jumped in head first. After more than 90 competitions, I feel I look better on stage now than I did at age 51.
I have been fortunate enough to qualify for Masters' Pro cards in the WNBF, USBF and the NGA. To date, I have not competed at that level. However, my friend, Old Navy , has convinced me to jump in and have some fun in Atlanta at the NGA Pro-Am show with him. Scott ,"Old Navy" Hults is one of the most enthusiastic bodybuilders I know and we should have grand time there.
My competition wt currently is about 120 lbs. so everyone on the board looks huge to me.
Looking forward to making some new friends here.

Welcome Neal! 90 contests… i'm impressed, props to you! NOW I feel bad about what I did: Taking a year off after a HUGE 10 contests in a row As far as enthusiasm goes… I agree… Scott is the winner hands down! Mo

Ninety contests is truly a testament to how wonderful and understanding my wife, Ruth, is, not me!

Welcome to the board Neal. Hearing from guys like you is very motivating to me. Having turned 40 and planning to do my first show in the Spring, I need all the expertise I can find.
Welcome- you'll like it here.

Mike,
Thanks for the welcome. Never dwell on age. Just drive hard to be the best you can be, and then make your next presentation even better.
Joel,
I am a late starter and a slow learner, so I needed to get as much experience as fast as I could.

Frank,
It is a pleasure to see so many motivated athletes on this board and some of them may even remember The Howdy Doody Show.
A member who is a bit more senior than me, Scott "Old Navy" Hults, and I will be competing at the NGA Pro-Am show in Atlanta this weekend. Scott, who is 64 is one of the most driven bodybuilders I know. Wish us luck!
