I use them on leg presses when I use 7-8 plates..........also used to use them on hack squats, when I had access to a hack machine, which I no longer do,unfortunately.............only on the sets that I would do 3-5 reps on though.........lighter sets I don`t use them.

Thanks Tim, I will be doing hack squats on my new routine. I hav'nt used hacks in years and they can be somewhat hard on the knees.

At the college gym I train at,they don`t have a hack machine which sucks because I really like them. At times,I go to a little hardcore gym a few towns away to use theirs but it`s terrible on the knees......can`t go heavy at all without feeling as though you are gonna` get injured.

We have a pretty good one where I train but they are going to get a new one soon and I don't know how it will be. Its from Elite strength systems and its a combination leg press hack squat unit. It looks okay from the picture they have posted of it. Our leg press machines right now are both Nautilus, one is the plate loading leverage type and the other one has a weight stack.

Thanks Hoopie, I'm getting pretty restless, time to get back in the gym! Took a week vacation and all I did was eat and work on the house. My knee feels better I guess I'll test it out monday, might as well start with squats! I'm going to stick with the wraps for a while. Do you guys use them on anything other than squats? Squats always and depending on how my knees feel, i will use them when doing hacks....

Joel, I use wraps when I get over 405....just as a precaution. I don't think the extra help they give when using that weight lessens the effect of the exercise. Occasionally I'll use them if I have a little soreness too, as in doing Hacks.

Joel, if it's the one I'm thinking about, we have same one at my gym. It's pretty good. I find, though, you really have to stack a lot of weight on this. It's okay if you have a training partner, but if you're on your own, it does become time consuming. As for the movement, it's pretty smooth. I like Elite products.

I was talking with my hubby last night (mrbig on this forum) and he told me the show you are doing is the one we are going to in October. He never really told me the "name" of the show and when I told him you were dieting he told me"Yeah the show we are going to, the NPC Northern USA"..anyway..we will be there and now we can root you on!!!!

Just trying to keep up with you guys!
First day on P/RR/S training! This will be power week, might as well start with legs!
squats 135x10 225x10 315x10 365x6 405x4 425x6 425x5 425x5
nautilus leverage leg press 18platesx6 18platesx6
nautilus leg ex. 170x6 170x6
stiff leg deads 315x6 315x6
nautilus leg curl 150x6 150x6
15 minutes on treadmill 8 degree incline 4 miles per hour.
I'm going to be sore for days! I had a few reps left in me on each set but since this is my first week back I tried to restrain myself. Overall everything felt pretty good, my right knee is still a little stiff.
First day back on cardio, I never use the treadmill but I thought it would be a good place to start and it did'nt bother my knee.
Tim, I'm really getting used to my wraps. The squats went up easy today! I'll pay for it the rest of the week! lol!!!
