Andrew, I think thats a smart move. It just takes as long as it takes to get contest ready and theres really no replacement for that! Theres really no doubt that Eric will get you there, he really knows his stuff, and you know that better than anyone! I would just follow his timeline on how long this is gonna take and then follow though with your animalistict training! You can't fail! Like you said nobody wants to train for 3rd or 4th place!

Andrew...you know my take on contests is a little different than most in that I really don't like the idea of competing just to get up there. To me, a bad experience is a wasted experience. By bad I mean coming into a show, knowing you could be better that day. I realize that sometimes you can come in at your best and it still doesn't work out...but that is NOT what I am talking about here. It just does not sit well with me. I put WAY too much effort into this not to be gunning for the top spot each time out. I know I have stated before that I compete against myself...and that IS true...but that is after I have done everything humanly possible to be better than the last time out. If I continue to do that, then I always feel that I have a real shot at winning. It's like my contest schedule this season...my show coming up on the 23rd of June would be looked at as a "warm-up" of sorts by alot of guys doing the Nationals a month later. Not me....... I plan on coming in to the West Palm in my best ever shape, then a month later showing up in Pittsburgh for the Nationals even better! To me it's not even a question if that can be done...I have already made my mind up that it WILL be done! AND, after that..I am coming to the NABBA show in October looking to be better still! That's just my nature...I am a very "driven" individual. I sense these things in you too, Andrew. My advice to you would be to enter when you are SURE you are in the absolute best shape you could have come in on that day. Only then will you be able to make a fair assessment of the contest experience.

Great advice, and Andrew,I`m sure that the lower carb intake is gonna` make a drastic difference in your physique.
Stay focused, and tough out the diet, just like you tough out the workouts, and you will not fail !!
TRAIN HARD!!
Keith,I don`t beleive in warm up shows either, although I may refer to a less prestigous contest as one, if it is before a bigger more prestigous contest.
Although I surely never win all the time,I do train to win every time I prep.
