First I would like to say nice site Tim. I came here from MM and I really like it. Good luck!
I took 4 months off and I Just started back a few days ago and I have to say Ouch! everytime I move. I think this is the worst part of starting up training again. I wish I never stopped, but I guess this is a pretty good punishment.
Just had to vent!!!

Hey MB,wwelcome to the board,I`m glad you like it.......thanks!! Starting back is tough, but the soreness to me is a welcome pain that kinda` puts me back in touch with my muscles after they have been neglected........not that I`ve stopped in a while now,but I used to be an off and on trainer years ago due to personal problems. Glad you`re hittin` the gym again......props!!

T I wish it was only 4 weeks. I was really busy with my business and I thought I didn't have time for the gym. Well the business hasn't changed I just made time for the gym. I hate not working out but we all have done it. I think I have learned a pretty good lesson this time. There is always time for the gym!! Now it's time to get the diet back in shape!! MB

Oh man don't you just love the comeback soreness. Calves hurt so bad you can't walk. Your brachialis is so sore you can't even straighten your arm. Your back is so sore you can't even wipe. The legs get sore and start cramping in areas. Oh yeah. Gotta love it.

I remember one of many times when I just started back.........I used to never pace myself, and always overdid it because of my enthusiasm.
I did a zillion heavy sets for calves, with a lot of stretching, and the next day when my foot hit the bedroom floor in the morning ,I couldn`t put my heel down on the floor for hours, until my calves had loosened up enough to allow me to do so.........I walked around on my tip toes for about 5 hours wherever I went that day. ;D
Can you imaging the weird look`s I got from people.......it looked like I was sneaking up on somebody!! :Rolling Laugh:
I usually get sore from every workout, and I love it, but it`s not the "comeback" kind of intense soreness.

Welcome to the board... Guess i am weird.. but i love to be sore I agree. I just sit here at my desk and randomly flex different parts of my body just to remind myself that they are still sore. I feel as though if I'm not really sore, I didn't work hard enough. Does that make me a teensy bit masochistic? ;D

Ok I'm feeling better today (advill is great stuff). Just don't ask me to run. ;D MB LOL....the last time I tried to do sprints a couple of days after a tough leg day, I took like two steps and said "no way"!.....all I could do was this sort of hitched-up kind of jogging thing......hehehe.... :Happy Spinner: Advil IS a very good thing.....although I guess I usually like to "punish" myself be letting the soreness remain.....hmmm...soreness is good.....
