"But you got to follow through, with every word you say, if you want to be with me," the guy to me, is a poet. I really love his use of words on the aforementioned "Belief." "Oh tonight, you came, to my rescue, with a knife, in the shape of your mouth, in the form of your body, with a wrath of a God." I like stuff like that....

YB, I would not have thought you were "lyrical." I am REALLY into lyrics too!!! Those are AWESOME lyrics, in that song "belief"!!! (We have the cd burned at work and we listen to it all the time. That is why I was unsure of the title of that song). That is one reason I LOVE COLDPLAY....they just get into your soul....also why I love U2!!!! Songs with conviction!!!! Do you like the new band the Fray?? Their cd very good and the lyrics are really good!!!! You are cool , YB!!!!!

The Fray is good. I like 'em. Haven't had enough of their stuff run through my head yet to really ingrain it, but I like them and their lyrics too. They seem to be more of a groove band, than lyrical. A great songwriter to listen to for lyrics is a guy named Joe South. Obscure southern hick, that likes little boys...but damn he's one helluva songwriter! Also, Edwin McCain (I'll Be), Steam (Kiss Her Goodbye), and Drops Of Jupiter by Train....the latter is a really heavy lyrical song that seems as if Shakespeare could have written it with Eminem!!!

I do LOVE the song Drops of Jupiter as well. I am also a fan of Edwin McCain love his song "I'll be" but I LOVE "Could not ask for more." I have never heard of Joe South, but I would listen to him if you say he is real good. A few bands I love that I think they get lack of credit at times..more these days then when they were popular are: Stone Temple Pilots...especially when they were unplugged..AMAZING....also Nirvana...Kirk Cobain wrote some OUTSTANDING songs...you could feel his turmoil inside. Also another huge one for me..The Cure....people make fun of them but they just draw me in!!!!
