pscarb, welcome to the board, and thanks,I`m glad you like the site!! Personally, I do not use EFA`s as of yet, so I can`t relare any personal experience with their usage, but I don`t see why you couldn`t use them to obtain your fat intake. I recommend sticking close to the cycle I`ve outlined though and not adding fats or protein on low carb days. I think if you were to keep fats constant throughout the diet, but minimal and tweaking when necessary, and protein very high, relative to bodyweight, the way it`s set up work`s great!!

Check out my diet....on training journals. I eat 8oz of salmon and still keeping a good high protein, carb cycling routine. ;D But since you're talking about Fish oil supplements it may be a bit different..because Salmon is the complete package...protein, fat, vitamin &minerals, amino acids.

cheers for the quick response guys. i use salmon in my diet at the moment and found it to be good when i drop carbs..
i work away alot and therfore i have to realy on MRP's/Whey protein for at least 2 meals. this is not the most perfect situation when dieting but unfortunatly i have to work to keep my kitchen knife(wife) in shoes.. ;D
if you guys do use the above when preping when do you drop them from your diet??
MRP i use is Labrada breakfast...

my general rule is...if you can get real food...try to get real food instead. Living on MRPS is expensive..and usually there are ingredients in there that are unwanted.
Even I keep my ON whey protein shake for PWO only....and i choose Vanilla Ice Cream flavor or Double Rich Chocolate....as they are the only flavors without all the extra crap...just good important ingredients..hehe
If you want salmon..you can get canned or fresh pouch salmon from Chicken of the Sea. I eat FRESH salmon..mainly because i have time...taste better...
If you're worried about the sodium...there are stores that sell Canned ones without salt in them.
I wouldn't go with MRPS. And my last 2 meals are 4oz salmons...so its perfect...long lasting protein to keep me lean through the night..and it is comfort food...(fresh)

i think you have mis read my post i only substitute 2 meals with MRP's due to circumstances..
i would say some MRP's do not live upto their package expectations but i have dieted succesfully in the past using MRP's the one i choose is the new Labrada Breakfast MRP which has a good profile and the carbs are taken from whole food sources not maltadextrin therefore it does not produce insulin spikes..
of course i do agree in a perfect world eating whole foods is best and this is what i do at weekends and when i work from home but because you have to make the most of the hand you are dealt MRP's seem to work for me mid morning and mid afternoon.

Paul,I usually cycle like this:
150 100 50 125 200
Essentially what I do is drop carbs by 50 grams over 3 days then increase carbs by 75 grams for the next two days and repeat the cycle throughout the diet.
The only time I would go to zero carbs is if I cease to burn any fat and reach a plateau. Then I might do two very high days or 3 zero carb days.
I feel that anything more than 3 days at zero is too much.
Of course these numbers will vary per individual, due to carb sensitivity and a lot of other factors, but the basic premise works for me all the time.
200 grams is a good number to start with as a high day and tweak it from there depending on your results.
