Alright guys, I am going to start dieting around february still growing right now...
The leanest I have ever been was two years ago I dieted down to about 8% bodyfat and had some decent abs for the beach. Needless to say I lost alot of muscle and was in no way contest ready.
I just want to get a couple of questions answered and make sure I have everything ready for optimal leanness so to speak
What sort of model do you guys use to structure diet?
When do you suggest I do cardio?
Do you think I should go lowfat-medium carb or medium fat-lowcarb?
I have a few more question, I will ask as I think of them

I don`t really get sloppy but right now I`m smoother than a baby`s ass, with just barely visible abs.
I have to diet and do cardio, for 16-20 weeks to really get shredded .
The fat that I do gain is pretty evenly distributed for the most part, except I have a tendency to store a bit more in the abs and obliques, which ironically enough, are one of my best bodyparts...... when I`m in contest condition.

Yeah im as smooth as a chaffed dolphins crotch!!! :Happy Spinner: :Double Puke:
Ihave always been afraid of doing cardio after training because I train for so long1 1/2hours or so, sometimes less around an hour and fifteen I always thought I would go Catobolic- but if it works for you I will try it.

i don't think a bodybuilder can get THAT fat....but over the course of 1-2 yrs of bulking..they can probably get pretty rounded...but still not considered "FAT". I've seen many bulked up photos...so i can tell who bulked eating cakes..or who bulked eating oatmeal. ;D Right now...I'm weighing in at about 120+lb.. and i don't have that little FLAB over my pants. I guess my physique keeps everything nice and tight.

Where you do cardio on your ab training day only....but still keep active through out the week... but if you're getting into a contest..don't listen to me ;D I'm a newb when it comes to contest stuff...too confusing...(water control, carb control, sodium ,etc.)

While I don`t beleive in living in the gym,and I do try to get in and out quickly,I only do 16-20 minutes of cardio(usually)....I doubt if that would cause a problem.
Some people act like if they stay in the gym one second over 60-90 minutes they are gonna` disappear.
Just a lot of hype IMO if you are eating good and have good post-workout nutrition, you`ll be fine...of course there is a fine line between training hard and staying in the gym too long, but if you keep moving and don`t talk to anyone, you`ll be in and out in no time flat.
I have seen guy`s who say they train 90 minutes a day to 2 hours or more, when most of that time is spent bullsh*teting around!!
I do not mean you ,but I`m sure you`ve seen these psuedo iron warriors before!! ;D

I agree Tim, I generally take about 3 minutes in between my sets because I like to lift heavy I have been able to build appreciable bulk. I am trying to rev it up so to speak, I guess I am mainly afraid of losing the size I am known for and worked so hard to build. :Crotch Kick:

if i feel i really lifted as hard as i can..and need more rest..a max rest would be 3min. But i usually just go 120secs as a rule for Medium-hard intensity exercises..just so i can get a sip of water, change the weights..and stretch a little.

I think I could do well if I can get lean enough to compete, my height hurts a little 6'1 I have to weigh so much to be competetive. :Head Bash:

Hi ThinkBIG,
This is the absolute, indisputable truth ;D ;D ...
Seriously, here is what works for me:
- Low fat, medium carb - Very high intensity (and heavy as usual) training - 50% protein - 40% carbs - 10% fats (big picture) - If you add cardio (i dont) do it after your workout
Good luck

BodyFX, I was thinking of doing 30 min. Cardio in morning as you say...
...with me being so heavy what should i take before cardio(i.e. branched Chain amino's/how much,Gltamine/howmuch)etc.
I was thinking maybe 15grams powdered BCAA'a is that enough to stop muscle wasting?
maybe 15grams Glutamine as well?
Also would this slow down the amount of fat I would burn , as opposed to just doing it on a completely empty stomach?
