Hey guys... I hope I don't come off as sounding like a whiny little girl (no offense to the ladies on our board).
I occasionally post on "another" board which is known for being obnoxious.. I know.. I just need to quit looking at it.. but anyway here's the deal:
It's been reported that a 22 year old NPC competitor is in the hospital in critical condition due to severe deydration.. and supposedly we're not sure if it will come out ok or not. You would not BELIEVE the posts. Someone was kind enough to post pics of this kid in competition. Well a bunch of board members have posted things like ' well I hope he's learned his lesson' or well 'what does he expect he looks totally juiced', etc.. I had responded saying that I'd seen a few interviews with him and he seems like a really great kid. Well now I get "why is he a really nice kid- would a really nice kid juice his body so bad he almost dies... no title is worth dying... boy he's dumb for putting himself in this predicament", etc.
What happened to comeraderie? While I do not oppose anabolic steroids, I am supportive of those who don't use them as well as those who do. I don't understand how others in our community can be so mean hearted to make comments like this. I have to say that the one thing that has most impressed me since I became more "hardcore" in this sport is the comeraderie that we all share while pursing our goals, no matter what they are. I'm really upset about this.
Ok.. I've gone on long enough.. Only other thing I have to say is that it seems we have all types on THIS board and we're all respectful of each other. Glad to be here!
Oh.. and one more thing- welcome back Tim.. we love ya man!

People in here help each other and are respectfull in their comments... in fact (seriously) Weights on the Web is THE only reason i'm paying for my internet services right now! Thanks to Tim, the Mods and all you great members!

So.... where the hell is everyone? I though it was dead over at MassMonsters, but this place is a mausoleum! Not trying to be a total ass... just wondering what's up. Must be summer holidays etc. Oh well, back to work.

The exact reason I post here and 1 other site only. I may read and look around, but flaming and lack of comraderie pisses me off too.

I read some of the posts you are talking about on the other board. It is a shame. I wouldn't wish his problem on anyone. I know what I just went through preparing for my last contest and the last thing I would want to read are what some of those idiots would post about me.

I make no time in my life for hypocrites, liars, fools or braggarts---- that's why I love this board. I only participate here and on another site, because the vast majority of boards are filled with the above. The most refreshing thing about this site is that you will NEVER hear anyone flatter themselves ---- nothing annoys me more than someone who posts their workouts, then embellishes the post with phrase after phrase about how awe inspiring their effort and performance was.
Just shut up and workout!!! The numbers will speak for themselves.

This thread is an example of why this forum works so well. It is the individual members coming together as a community of brothers and sisters to discuss common goals and truly help and support each other.
A forum is only as good as its members, and this forum has the greatest members on the internet. Keith, Mike, Eric, Randy, Kyle, Devon, Mo and everyone else who posts here: although I don't know most of you guys face to face, I have more respect for you than many people I've actually met.
Tim has set an excellent example and standard here. As Tina Turner said, "you're simply the best"!

There aren't really many bodybuilders on that site and certainly very few competitors. So I would take that into consideration. They don't know jack and frankly, have a rather sick obsession with tearing people down. There has been a big change in the amount of comraderie in bodybuilding. And I myself have lost so much interest and respect for alot of people. It's sad to me, that something I've done my entire adult life embarrasses me sometimes and makes me feel ashamed. On that note, where the hell is Tim?  ? |

It's mutual, R! Peggy, your ex Tim left me a message and we finally spoke briefly last night. He is OK but might be committing murder soon (his repairman from hell!).
Hopefully, we'll have time this weekend for a longer conversation. I'll keep you posted in case Tim does not post himself.
