I know it sounds cliche, but we all need to do our part. Even if everyone who reads this thread just donates $20, that's probably over a thousand dollars that will go to help. I was watching today about a man whose wife was swept away by the floods, he was so upset he couldn't help bawling in front of the camera, and I couldn't help thinking "how would I feel?" Please, they need the money more than we do. www.redcross.org/-Layne

This is a perfect example of why I think Layne is one of the greatest people I've encountered on or off line.
Just made a phone pledge to the Red Cross Relief. Did not realize it was on line. But I also urge everyone to do whatever they can.
There but for the grace of God...
Thanks, Layne!!

thanks Gerry, I don't think I'm that great... I don't see how anyone could not want to donate to help those people. If you watch those news reports and it doesn't make you a little upset then you just don't have much of a heart.

Agree 1000%, Layne. The devastation and despair is heart wrenching and tragic. You would have to be dead not to be moved.
And this will take a long time in the recovery process for the region and its citizens.
