He beat out Dennis James to take the Charlotte Pro!!! Branch has arrived, my friends!!! And I can't say I care for the package DJ presents, that stomach is outta control!!!!  |

Dennis qualified mainly on reputation. He has the look that judges are supposed to be marking down. Proud of Branch. He has the momentum going into the O. I think he will be in the top 10, and top 6 would be tough but not impossible. Way to go! |

Gotta agree wtih you guys. Actually I've always been a big fan of DJ's and realy see him as the underdog year after year. I have to say that I respect the judges decision to NOT go on reputation and actually choose the rightful winner, Branch.
Branch presented an outstanding package (those legs... good god!!). On another board, some of the posts were dogging the decision saying tha Dennis's back, upper body, etc overwhelmed Branch's in the posedown.
My point to them is that while Dennis upper body is overhelming in general, I feel it overwhelms is lower body and in NO way was better than Branch. I think the idea behind bodybuilding is a total package- Branch was the total package- head to heel. I hope this rambling on makes sense!

Much sense and great post, Mike. Agree that Branch has becaome a complete package.
Legs were always there, even when he won Nationals. And I have huge respect for him for bringing the upper body into proportion. He has a little bit more to go, but is just about there. He should be noticed in the O!
