I had the opportunity to organize an arm wrestling tournament for a Special Girl with Brittle bone disease. It was a fun event with all procedes going to her medical fund.It however gave me a great lesson in human Character and Performance. One entrant a self proclaimed arm wrestling champ entered and proceeded all night to brag and proclaim that he had never been beaten . He even offered many side bets that no one would come close to beating him!!!He even tried to tell me how to run the tornament and how to set up the contestants.I Gracefully declined. The tornament began and he approached the table with a cigarette in his mouth.I had to use Great control not to insert that cigarette into unmentionable places on his anatomyLOL/He won the first round .The second round he lost to a quiet strong kid who decided at the last minute to enter to support the fund .He lost to that quiet guy and his Lifetime unbeaten string was ended!!! I thought back to my competitive days and all the claims I had heard from lifters and the % that came to pass.My coach in the 70s summed it up perfectly"Let your performance do the talkin"Oh well thought I would share this on this Sunday following Thanksgiving. My God Bless All My Brothers and Sisters in Fitness.HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON.
