Do you weigh your food after cooking or before?
The reason i ask is i normally cut up 3 to 4 large sweet potato's or red potato's then cook them, ( i cut them up and bake them).
After this the potato's shrivel up to nothing compared to what they were originally. Does this mess up everything when you weigh them?lmk

Try baking them whole..........you are drying them out,and removing water ,hence, the shrivelling efect.
Any baking will decrease water content, but probably not as much if baked whole.
Personally,I think you would be better off measuring the potatoes in a measuring cup......... after cooking.
As far as weighing food goes,I just weigh meat, fish, and chicken, the rest,I measure out.

I agree with the previous postings as measuring foods after cooking should be more accurate. The problem with measuring things such as chicken breasts or beef is that you are never quite sure how much water you are going to lose during the cooking process.
