Intensity Is...

Intensity is knowing exactly what you are going to do when you get to the gym before you get there.
Intensity is not just strolling into the gym yapping on your cell phone to your buddies and winging a workout once you get there.
Intensity is knowing the proper form for each exercise that you are performing.
Intensity is not doing exercises without knowing what their function is or making up exercises that you think look cool.
Intensity is wearing the proper gym clothing when you are in the weightroom that enable you to get the most out of your workout.
Intensity is not strolling into the weightroom in your dirty jeans and work boots thinking you are hardcore because you just crawled out of a muddy pit at the job site.
Intensity is concentrating on your own workout and not on what other people are doing in the gym.
Intensity is not switching from a leg workout to a chest workout because your buddy just came in and he’s doing chest.
Intensity is thinking about your next set while catching your breath from the last set instead of talking about yesterday’s football games.
Intensity is not wandering into the cardio room to read magazines and watch TV in between your sets.
Intensity is giving each rep of each set your attention and effort.
Intensity is not screaming and making noise just for the sake of making noise.
Intensity is getting a spotter on a heavy set so you can get the most out of the set.
Intensity is not lifting without a spotter and getting in trouble and letting you and the weights crash to the floor.
Intensity is having a partner that pushes you and you do the same for him.
Intensity is not having eight of your buddies all in one clump trying to all work in together on lat pulldowns.
Intensity is treating the gym with respect like you would do to your own house.
Intensity is not spitting on the floors, shooting snot rockets on the wall of the bathroom or clogging the toilet and walking away.
Intensity is getting the best workout you can get but at the same time being courteous to the others training around you.
Intensity is not going off on a rant and threatening everybody around you because you think somebody looked at you wrong.
Intensity is lifting hard within your capabilities.
Intensity is not putting way too much weight on the bar and making the spotters handle most of the work.
Intensity is asking for help from a knowledgeable trainer when putting together a routine.
Intensity is not going from a chest exercise to a leg exercise and then a shoulder one because they are the only exercises that you know.
Intensity is leaving your personal life and your cell phone at home when you come to the gym.
Intensity is not receiving ten cell phone calls while you are trying to train
