I've got one this weekend-its my primary(junior) school centenary and I've promised one of my friends I would go..To be honest I hate them because everyone stands around and talks about how much they earn, where they live and what car they drive and this is so NOT me! I don't have a materialistic bone in my body... Any tips on how to get through it? (Apart from boring them stupid talking about myself )

If you hate them that much, don't go. I have my ten year reunion at some point this year, not sure when. The high school didn't know anything about it when my friends went in and asked about it. I'm curious just to see the other people though. The popular ones that picked on me because I had a pompadour with grease in it. The same ones that would say that they were going to make XXX amount of money every year....we had one guy get into the NFL, the same guy that was banned from his graduation two weeks prior, because he was framed for selling pot! I'm just curious, plus I want to see how all the hot girls turned out!!! ;D Bet none of them look like my girl Sapphire!

You should ask Tim. He has been to over 100 of them...

I agree with YB, if you really do not want to go, then don't. I DESPISE them!!! I have been out for 12yrs and I have not been to one. I do not even see anyone from high school. It is not that I was not well liked...I was a cheerleader, popular, etc...but I just really do not care to see anyone....probably sounds snobby!!!

Not crazy about them myself. Glad I went to my last one though (Randy, my centennial reunion. Tim was a few years behind me in school. ;D).
I did make a few friendships that lasted through the years. One close pal died two months after the last reunion. So I was glad I decided to go.
Beckie, agree with Karrie. Don't go if you really don't want to. But even if there is one friend you want to see, then go. We never know what is in store for us each day!

Yeah,I've got one person I want to see and I've decided to go to the least painful things, like the informal get together tonight and the school tour tomorrow. I'm real interested to see how some of these people react when I say I have my own business I definitely won't be going to any high school ones though-too many rich b*tches for my liking

I went to my 20 year reunion in 1999, it went okay but I really don't think that I'm interested in going to number 30 which will be coming up before you know it!

haah actually I can't wait to go to mine. It's in 2 years (grad 98). I just wanna see how everyone fared. I know many of my old friends are married, mad kids, etc. I also want to see all those "popular" guys who ended up FAT AS SHEET! Those who wasn't all that popular who are doing well. 2 more years, I can't wait!
