Wow, I just got back from the Great Lakes States and i'm still on cloud nine. I won the tall class and then had to go up against Brad Steere (short class winner) for the overall with an IFPA ( www.ifpa.us ) pro card up for grabs. Brad has a pro level physique and was a great guy so to win my pro card against a guy of his caliber and character was a great honor for me. As cheezy as it sounds, I started tearing up after they announced my name as the winner. I couldn't believe it. It's the culmination of so many years of hard work, but especially these past 2 years. It made those 40 weeks of dieting all worth it. But to see the look on my girlfriend Isabel's face after I walked off stage... I could honestly have died a happy man right there. I've achieved more in bodybuilding than I ever thought I would. I've turned pro, i've been in a big time bodybuilding DVD, I've been featured in magazines, I've written articles for magazines such as Muscular Development, natural bodybuilding and fitness, and more recently had articles accepted for publication in Muscle and Fitness and FLEX. Never in my wildest dreams when I first started did I think that would ever happen. More than anything I wanted to thank all the members on here. You all have been a constant source of encouragement and inspiration for me. I can't thank you all enough. I also want to thank all the people who ever doubted me, told me my genetics would never allow me to become a pro, or make my legs respectable. Those comments drove me to work as hard as I did. With your knowledge, determination and work ethic, I knew it was just a matter of time, Layne.
Can't even express how proud of you I am! Terrific achievement and a tribute to you.
Now we have Pro Mo and Pro Layne here! And Pro Jennifer1 among the ladies. Really cool!
