Thanks for remembering and asking.
Fist, I can't say enough about how well the show was run. It was the Capital City Natural Bodybuilding Championchip, an INBF show held in Sacramento. The promoters and everyone involved were great. They really treated all the athletes very well, the venue was clean and set up well and the crowd the largest for a show that I've competed in. From everything I've heard this seems to be one of the top natural West Coast amature shows and it was a priviledge to compete in it with many fine atheletes.
My goal was to come in the top 3 in the Masters and win my class in the open (although I really wanted to win everything!)
I came in 3rd in the Masters against an insane field. There were 12 guys and it was by far the most competitive field. The judges worked our butts off! I have never been onstage for that long (not that I've competed much; this was my third show)--multiple switches in the order, re-posing, etc. I admit I was whooped when I came offstage. But later, very happy that I came in third. I actually had a WNBF Pro come back stage after the finals and tell me that she had me in first. I was probably one of the biggest guys, and the guy who won was absolutely shredded but a lot smaller. Now I have a better idea of what they're looking for (I think).
As for my class in the open, I competed as a heavyweight although I think that after my last couple of days of contest prep I may have come down to the light-heavies (I forgot to weigh myself towards the end so I don't know my final weight although I'm guessing 188lbs). I came in 2nd out of 3. The guy who won was a bit bigger and I felt a bit more cut. The Middleweight won the Open Overall.
All in all it was a great show. I learned that I have a lot of areas to improve upon (posing and getting more cut; I also never seem to get dark enough).
I'm doing one more show in a week, an ABA show again in Sacramento, then it's vacation and the off-season!
I'll see how our pictures turned out and try and get some up when I can.
Thanks again,
Bob

Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement.
Congrats again to Massiv for an outstanding job!
This next one's going to be tough; I have 2 night shifts and 2 mid shifts this week at work so my eating/sleeping/training schedule is all jacked up. Such is life... keep pushing on...
