Will be held this weekend, July 21 and 22nd at the Sheraton Hotel in Pittsburgh. Look forward to seeing 1400 and Hoopie from here and hopefully some others.
Gary Udit always does a super job promoting and running this show. There were 300 competitors last year and may even be more than that this year.
Six pro cards are on the line: Top 2 in the over 40 mens overall, overall winners of the mens over 50 and over 60, plus the overall masters womens BB winner, and the overall Masters Figure winner. Should be incredible.
Leaving tomorrow morning. Hopefully will have internet access there to keep in touch.

Awesome! Have fun guys! I thought about going up, but I won't be able to make it! If anyone close to Pburgh is interested in going to the North American in Cleveland, let me know. I'll be there.

Here in Pittsburgh. Hotel is very nice. Their Business Room only has one computer, which was unoccupied this morning. Not sure how much I'll be able to post.
Not much to report on yet. Early check in for athletes is at 5PM, and a final one at 9AM. Masters men are prejudged tomorrow night, and the teen/collegiate men and all the women (BB, masters figure and teen fitness) are judged Saturday morning.
I'll try to stay in touch.

Gerry, I am thinking about driving out for the show. Do you know the schedule of when each group is to go through pre-judging , etc?
Hossjob - I will also be planning on going to the North Americans. I'll shoot you a PM maybe there will be time to get lunch or something between pre-judging and the finals. Last time I went to the flats for a beer or two.

Lucked out with the computer.
Tim, spoke with Randy the other day and he says hello. He looks great (last I know) and could be a contender for over 50 pro status. He was always known for his conditioning.
Sal, tomorrow night prejudge starts at 6PM and is masters men only. Usually, over 40 division goes first, then over 50, over 60 and over 70. One year they reversed it so I can't swear to the sequence. But definitely masters men only.
Finals are 6PM Saturday, and masters men over 40 are last. The overall winner of over 40 is usually announced around midnight. But should be a good show.
Have to run. Hope to get on later.

Will try, Mo. Right now, computer here was unoccupied.
Tim, saw Randy this morning and he looks great. He says thanks and hello to you also.
The show will be very contentious. Won't seem the same without Lance (who is doing N Amer), but still John Cutri and many others will make this a tremendous show. Will try to update tomorrow about tonight's masters men prejudge.

Glad to hear that Lance is doing the North Americas as his karma is bad in Pittsburgh............the guy should have won this show twice for Gods sake!!!!

Amen, Tim!! Lance is an uncrowned pro, and hope he finally gets his due in September!
Saw a good pal of yours, Carla Salotti. She says hi and sends a big hug to "my man Tim"! She is working with a teenage competitor here and he looks really good.
Hopefully, more to come.

This from Mayhem:
I`m sad to report that a 44 year old male competitor passed away in his hotel today while posing.
I don't know more than that for now, but if I find out more I will let you all know.
Condolences to his family. Man this sucks.

Tim, this is true. There was a kind of pall over the prejudge because of the passing of Anthony D'Arezzo. Didn't know him well except through on line and emails, but he was a good guy.
Anthony died a few hours before prejudge in his room from a heart attack. He had weighed in and had looked fine the night before.
Hard to sleep from the shock. He will be missed, and I offer sympathy to his family and friends. Very sad, as life is way too short for all of us.

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gerry,I just saw Anthony in May at the New Englands...........Ron Harris was telling me at the contest that Anthony had had a hip replacement. He was very well know in the New England area. My condolences to his family and friends. RIP A shot of Anthony D`Arezzo taken at the contest courtesy of www.davepalumbo.com

It was a real shock to everyone who knew him.
Today was a long day, morning prejudge went from 9:30AM till 4:15PM and evening show from 6PM till 1:20AM!!! I understand that changes are afoot for next year.
John Cutri won over 40 overall (finally) and pro status. Rodney Davis repeated as over 40 super heavy winner and also won pro status. Jim Hampton won over 50 overall and pro status.
Will report more when I can. Have to get to bed!!
