Well 13 was lucky for us, but it sure wasn't lucky for the other guy, LOL. "My" boxer, David "El Sicario" Vargas won fight number 13 last night on a second round knock out. Not only did he knock the guy out, but I mean that the guy was "out like a light knocked out." The doc even had to come into to make sure that he was okay. That's 13 fights and 13 wins for "El Sicario," still not a long record, but quite respectable if I do say do myself. It was hard for me to prepare David for this fight, because within a months time we had 3 different opponents and three different weight classes. The first guy was at 69 kilos, which is really hard for us, as David's body just doesn't want to go that low. Anyways, that guy chickened out (claiming an injury), so then it was another guy at 75 kilos. A week out, that guy backed out, so another guy stepped in at 72 kilos. I always try and keep David around 72/73 kilos, because these things usually happen, so that weight wasn't hard to hit. He weighed in at 71 kilos, and the other guy came in at 76, but never one to back down from a fight, David agreed to fight instead of taking a forfeit win. He made short work of the guy anyways, even though the guy weighed ten pounds more than him. We are one step closer to Vegas, I'll keep you all posted, Vin.

Thats awesome Vin-you must tell us about how you train these guys LOL, mabye my posts make my role in this seem more important than it really is, LOL. I only handle his diet and weight training, the really IMPORTANT things, which are his boxing technique, are handled by another guy in a boxing gym in a near by town. Basically I train him just like a body builder, the only real difference is that I have to give special attention to his neck and trap training, as they have to be "extra" strong to help him absorb the "odd" shots that he recieves to the head!!!!!!!!! I will state, however, that the biggest "headache" does fall into my lap, and that is his making weight for each fight. The last week before any fight I am really stressing about his weight, as you can't even weigh "grams" over the stipulated weight or it's a "no contest." If he doesn't make weight, it's all "my fault," if something goes wrong in the ring, it's "his fault" for not listening to his trainer and manager. Either way, those two guys always get off easy, LOL, Vin.
