I agree with the others - By the pics I have you higher than 5th.
Either way you did us all proud here on WOTW - THANK YOU! You can't control the judging, just bring your best and you'll always win.
You looked great. I just wish I could have been there, sometimes things just don't work out as we plan.

Good job, Joel. Looked lean and conditioned to me! based on these, I think you should have been 3rd or at worst 4th in masters.
You can back sharp after 3 years off the stage, and that is a victory in itself. Know it will be even better next time!

Thanks guys, I guess it just goes to show how hard it is to win in our sport! I'm planning on making some changes in my approach to training and dieting. You're never too old to learn and I'm not going to stop trying!
Again, I really appreciate all of you! You make me feel like a winner!

Joel,if I were you,I would enter one more show this year, preferably one where the judges are not blind.
Anyway,no matter how they saw it,I think your conditioning, and work ethic are off the hook!
Use it as fuel my friend!!

Quote from hossjob<Joel, I think Chan had the right idea! Then you can meet up w/ Hoops, Chan, and me and we can all have a SMORGOUSBOARD of scrumcious foods! >
Now there's an idea! It would be a blast to get to meet you guys!
Tim, I am going to use this as fuel! Good advice! I've got week points that are going to have to come up if I'm going to be able to compete at your level!
Randy, I'm thinking that the P/RR/S training will be the way I'm going to get myself to the next level. I need to also look at my diet get advice from someone like Tim or bodyfx on how to dial myself in more precisely! Its always been kinda hit and miss for me, I thought I had it down to more of a science but I think I came in flat at the show. I believe that I may have pushed it a little too much at the end and got too depleted. My legs didn't come in as ripped this time maybe because of the knee injury that I had all summer.
One thing for sure, I've got the knowledge of a great bunch of people to rely on and I will take advantage of that!

Joel, thanks for the compliment, but you are a much better bodybuilder than I ever could hope to be. #bowdown3ht# I`m not blind like those judges.........and I`m honest in my self evaluation too!! LOL

Tim, you didn't get to the national level by accident! You're a fantastic bodybuilder and I mean this in all sincerity. The things I admire the most in a champion is not only their physical development but their dedication and knowledge of the sport! You have all of these qualities as do others on this board. As for myself I'm pretty good at following instructions that come from knowledgeable people who have already set the way!
This forum has been a real "find" for me in that I can take advantage of all this accumulated wisdom! I just hope I can put it to good use before I get too old for it to do me any good! LOL

Took the words out of my mouth, Tim! Both are top class shows and Joel would be a great fit for both.
Joel, please consider either or both. Don't sell yourself short. You are a class act on and off stage.

First Joel, i think you looked very good! You talked about "hit and miss" i would honestly say you impressed me with your pre-contest pics… and you also impressed me with your onstage pics! Congrats buddy!! Success is not determined by where you placed… but as you know by factors like "how you progressed since the last time you were on stage" or "what you've learned from this contest"! That being said, i do believe you looked phenomenal… and you inspired me during your journey! Seriously, i agree that you should always adjust the way you do things to become a better bodybuilder… but in my mind, you are on the right track, so it's just about fine tuning…
Congrats Joel!

Thank you Mo, coming from you that means alot! I think I just took too long of a break between contests plus I really need to even out my physique more in order to compete at the next level. We'll talk about that later!
You're right though and I always say the same thing to others, its how much you are able to improve that really counts! Everything else is left up to the judges! I'm planning on improving this year and coming in sharper next time!
Thank you for being in my corner!
Tim, thats cool, for some reason I was thinking that I needed to qualify to enter the Master's Nats.
