Those of you who have been training as long as me will identify with the lulls in motivation I have from time to time...I'm in one now and struggling to come out of it.
what are the 5 things that help you stay motivated with your training?

1) my log book, which must be beat (biggest)
2) Thinking about others who are not quiting today
3) Music (Well if my damn Ipod would work)
4) Knowing that I will be competing
5) I need to motivate others so I can never show weakness

1) Stay ahead of the competition
2) Staying healthy- So I can watch my children grow.
3) My time- 1 1/2 to 2 hours a day that everyone in the world stays out of my way.
4) Setting new goals after I reach them
5) Keep me out of bars, trouble and not getting another divorce because I can be a bonehead at times. lol
I hope one of mine can help you. I know how it can be getting out of rythem.

All pretty self centered but here goes
1- I work around people who range from simply overweight to morbidly obese and seeing all the health problems they go thru.
2- It's had amazing effects on my health and self confidence.
3- I like being stared at.
4- I like the challenge of makin every workout count.
5- Moments like this: The otherday I decided to thro seated dumbell shoulder presses into my deltoid routine. As I pressed each db up past my head this frigging WING came outta my back. I looked just like my old idols! I asked Tom where the hell did that come from. He acted like I was putting him on and just replied they been there for years, just covered up by your own self doubt.
It's moments like THAT that keep me going back.

1. I have OCD 2. I've just got to feel that heavy iron! 3. The thought of looking like everyone else is unexceptable! 4. Its just what I do and I never get bored with it! 5. I know Tim and Randy are at the gym training twice as hard as me!
Seriously, motivation has never been a problem for me. It seems like the older that I get the more I appreciate going to the gym!
