Hoops! Man, I can relate! (been sick, injury, etc. - see my journal) And it's killing me not to go to the gym!
IF you feel you need the rest, take it. Find a distraction.....library, short vacation, female (my recommendation!). Whatever it takes to keep you a little pre-occupied for the time you need.
Hoops, I know it's hard man. I want to go and just grab some monster DB and press until my chest pops! BUT....wisdom is knowing what is BEST for your training.
Bodybuilders are NOT stupid people. WE need to use our brains for diet, proper rest, sleep, etc. ANYBODY can go to the gym....ANYBODY can lift weights....ANYBODY can "say" they know how to diet......But NOT everybody can live the life of a bodybuilder.
Live long......lift heavy.......carpe diem!

Hoops that's good! It means you're not mentally drained. However, no matter how good you feel or how much you want to get into the weight room you need at LEAST 1 week off. It's hard, but if I were you I'd take 2 WEEKS OFF! Then get back into it about 75%. You can't rush back in or you'll cause injury brother!

I used to be just like that. Eventually I learned to realize that it's more beneficial for you to stay at home and rest than be in the gym for a 2 hour marathon session. No matter how much you love it. Unless you're dieting for another contest, go out, eat some Dairy Queen, binge on some ice cream (I recommend Dreyers!) and have some pizza to finish it off. Wash it down with a can of full sugar Jolt! and you won't want to be in the gym till the bloat wears off! Try this every day, and then you'll be fine with your gym cravings! Clean it up when you go back to the gym!!! #bangelsmiley4td#
